Public Library of Anniston and Calhoun County — Attraction in Anniston

I took the kids to check out some books. Haven’t been to this library in years. We were standing in line waiting, and was called to the desk by the lady working there. Another man standing in line commenced to tell me how rude I was for cutting in front of him. I said “sir I’m not being rude, she just called me to the desk?” he goes on to tell me how rude I am again, and goes on to call me fat and many many more derogatory names.

I told him to stop talking to me and he went on to say he is gonna knock me out. I told him that was not gonna happen. The lady behind the desk goes on to APOLOGIZE TO THIS MAN. The man threatening me with my 7 and 9 year old standing next to me, over a place in line, and desk ladies mistake.

I looked at her and said “are you serious.. you are apologizing to him” “no one is going to make him leave after all of that?” She just stared at me. And then APOLOGIZED to him a second time. Nobody did a thing, except try to appease this man. I pushed the books back across the counter and told her I didn’t want anything from this library and me and my kids started walking out. The man continued yelling as we were leaving and then commenced to CHASE us out of the library trying to attack me. Some man in the library ran after him to hold him back and I told the kids to sprint to the car.

Right is right, and wrong is wrong. And the Anniston library is so wrong for allowing this to happen, doing absolutely nothing, and basically watching a man who was high as a kite chase a woman and her kids out of the library. I absolutely do not recommend this library to anyone, especially if you have kids. Both of mine...

I am stunned by the great selection for all ages. The library of things , the great amenities are all encompassing for any age. The kids section is full of great hands-on toys, art, kids tablets, toys, and any the selction for any book for your child that they could ever desire. Library staff are welcoming and helpful for anything. I am proud of Calhoun County and the city of Anniston for a great experience and the ability to progress our county to...

The library is very nice. Employees are nice as well. My only concern or complaint would be, when I was at the computers, a lady sat down next to my computer station, and was able to see what was on my screen. The lady was playing a game on hers and every now and then she glanced at mine. I was using the email server and it was private with the State Dept. My suggestion would be, to install some type of privacy walls...
