Full Bellie Deli — Restaurant in Anniston

We tried out Full Bellie Deli today for the first time. It was deliciously fresh!

I order me the Gurnee Sub sandwich which comes with pepperoni, salami, ham, provolone cheese, lettuce, bell peppers, onions, banana peppers, black olives and Italian dressing

Moma order the Gurnee Salad (you can make any sandwich into a salad)

Colton ordered the Federal Sub sandwich which comes with your choice of bread (he got jalapeno cheddar) Turkey, Ham, bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and choice of dressing.

He also order a side of coleslaw.

We absolutely loved the flavors of the sandwiches. It was the best most freshest deli meat, vegetables and bread we ever had when eating a sub sandwich. The Italian dressing on the Gurnee was the perfect addition to make this sandwich absolutely amazing.

A little backstory.... The owners joked about opening a hot dog stand when they moved here, but when they visited a sub shop franchise and noticed they turned down a large catering order, a light bulb turned on and they decided to opened a fresh deli sandwich shop in Anniston.

Their bread and cookies are baked fresh daily and they even slice the meats daily too.

This restaurant is run by a friendly husband and wife dynamic duo!! So when you order your food from them you are getting top notch service and help put money in their pockets to take care of their family, instead a huge corporate or franchise restaurant.

Full Belly Deli is open Monday through Friday 9 am to 3pm.

They do offer catering for large events on week days and even weekends.

It is a little more pricer than these franchise stores BUT the quality and quantity of the food you get is totally worth the extra couple dollars!!!

The only complaint I have is I don't like they do not cut up the meats or lettuce for the salad causing you to eat the whole slice of the meat or you trying to cut it up yourself either with your hands or plastic knife. You may be able to ask them to cut it up prior I am not sure.

What a find! When I heard a bagel sandwich and soup restaurant had opened in Anniston, my mouth watered. Not since New York or California had I had the pleasure. So, when tasting a fabulous sub, amazing soup, and watched my wife dig into a Reuben sandwich, I had to ask, "New York or California?" And the answer is ... California.

Their cuisine may not sound special: soup, salad, subs and sandwiches, but it's all in the preparation baby, and these guys have it perfected. You won't find better. Oven heated, cheese ooie-gooie, soups seeping with flavor, and salads jumping off the plate, you will be transported to a different part of the country to experience succulence that just isn't found for this style of food.

They leave Quiznos in the dust, wipe Subway down the drain and only Firehouse competes, yet still falls short. Seriously, a New York or California style, heated sub, is a delicacy that must be sampled at least once in a lifetime, and we now have that in Anniston!

Okay, so why not 5 stars? This is to be fair to all other restaurants I review. This guys are just starting out. They are sparsely furnished, and ambience is a bit lacking, but they've done it right. Focus on the food, and the rest will come. In time, they will be 5 stars, and we will have...

My wife and I were there this past Wednesday for lunch. A friend of mine, who know's the owners and eats there often, has been telling me how we needed to go and eat there and we finally had some time together around lunch and decided to go, wanting something different than the usual local fast food fare. We were not disappointed! I can't say enough about how well we were served and tended to. We had the full bellie "Federale" combo, a hot deli style sandwich and it was delicious! We also had the soup of the day, Broccoli & Cheddar, which was also delicious along with one of their homemade chocolate chip cookies. The location and atmosphere there just added to the experience. Can absolutely recommend this deli as a must visit place to eat especially if you're looking for something different.
