Me and my cousin went to the Heritage Festival. It's been many years since I've last attended. These past two years have reiterated the importance of not only supporting my culture, but being extremely proud of all that extends from it. The beautiful, bad, and ugly things that makes us unique. Our ancestors fought hard and went through things we will never be able to simply put into words. But, I can truthfully say, they would have been proud Saturday. We came together as a unit, in nothing but peace, love, and happiness. I had a wonderful time! My only complaint was the jumbo screens need to be larger and placed in a better position so everyone in the park can both see and hear the entertainment. Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience.

Park definitely had potential and a decent playground but there were at least 3 different groups of people that were obviously homeless. Pretty sure one guy was shooting up while sitting on the bleachers in plain site. Trash on the ground. Will definitely not be back. Very sad.

Zinn Park is a beautiful place and has plenty of equipment to keep the children occupied. It has paved walking paths, plenty of shade trees, several benches, a sheltered picnic table area, a splash pad, etc. There is plenty of parking and it also has a building that can be used for different events as well as an outdoor amphitheayer. Several events are held here each year and it is located in the heart of downtown Anniston so on your way there and back you can enjoy the architecture of the older buildings. Its location is also very close to a variety of restaurants. Although there are many positive aspects to Zinn Park there are a couple of negative ones. One problem is littering. Some people seem to not care about throwing their trash down anywhere and I believe that is in part due to a lack of trash cans. The second issue is that it is a place that many of Anniston's homeless people hang around. I'm not saying that they are necessarily a problem, I blame the local government for not finding a solution to the homeless crisis in this city. That being said not all homeless people are bad by any means but there are some that will continuously harass you for money, steal from you or they suffer from mental illnesses and could potentially be violent. It saddens me to think about all of the people in this city that don't have a place to call home. God willing if my health improves or at least doesn't get any worse I plan on trying to set up a community outreach program at the...

Love the atmosphere & how clean it is! The bathroom is locked so they have porta-potties which are decent. There are places to charge your phone. I’m staying at Martha’s Hope that just opened up. It’s a homeless shelter. But I have enjoyed the past 2 days over here. I’m giving it 4 stars just because of the bathrooms oh & no working...
