ALDI — Attraction in Apple Valley

Aldi has great produce at great prices. They have a lot of great prices on everything, actually, if you don't mind off-brand equivalents. I think they're fine, but my children are a little pickier, so I don't shop there as much as I used to. But one thing my kids DO like is their fresh family size cheese pizza. According to them, it beats all other frozen brands, even fresh Papa Murphy's! I also like their frozen gyro meal packs with gyros meat, thick pita bread & yummy tzatziki sauce. Two things to be aware of -- you need a quarter for their grocery carts, and they don't provide free bags; you have to pay for paper or reusable bags. So either bring your own bags or be prepared to pay for them (they're pretty cheap). Or you can use grocery boxes from the store shelves or just carry it out in your hands if...

Pro's Small store for quick shopping. Cheese and produce are always a good price. Gold or silver sticker on shelf means taste good item. Con's... You can't get all your grocery shopping done here. Cub is close to get ingredients Aldi doesn't have. I skip meat because it seems/tastes salty to me. Checking out with small kids in the cart is a hassel. The cashier places your items into another different cart than the one you were using in the store. So you have to move kid into another cart then bag your own groceries. They do not provide bags for free.

Still, the good prices makes up for all the cons. If you plan your trip ahead it isn't so bad. Strawberry $1.49! In Minnesota. January 24, 2019 unheard of...

I love Aldi. They don't always have what I need, but 9 times out if 10 they do. Typically when I do my weekly shopping it get everything here and just run to another store for the three or four items they don't carry. Their produce is super fresh and just really great looking, their eggs are a great price, their blocks of cheese are cheaper, and they have an awesome meat selection. Even though there are only usually one or two registers and usually a line at least 5 people deep, they usually move pretty fast. I also like it that it's smaller and not so overwhelming. Even when it's busy it's not like a large super market. All in all...
