My son was in town from LA and had an early morning return flight, yet he was so eager to have white castles. It was around 9:20 pm. When we looked up the closing time on Google and discovered that they would be open until 10 pm. We raced from our hotel in Eagan and arrived at approximately 9:40PM, there was only one other customer in the drive thru and no customers inside yet we were asked to wait for someone to take our order. Once the lady came to the intercom and began taking our order, we quickly realized that the lady seemed to be upset that we were there and told us several times that it would be "a very long wait" we stated that we were fine with the wait and just excited to finally have the food from such a nostalgic place from our childhood (we moved away from MN 16 years ago). The employee constantly attempted to discourage us from ordering and started sighing and taking deep exaggerated breaths, saying "ugh" & "omg, how much more are u ordering?" She was extremely agitated. She was speaking to the man on the grill, saying stuff like "these guys are irritating," "I'm ready to go!" And "please tell me we're all out. " I'm not sure if it was a hot mic situation or if she actually wanted us to hear her, but we were so sad. Once we got to the window to pay, this same temper continued. We asked if she could hold on a second while we checked our order for accuracy, and she said she already did and just closed the window anyway. As we looked back while pulling away from the window, her and the man who was cooking were both laughing and looking in our direction, holding up middle fingers towards us. Unfortunately, because of their strange and unpleasant behavior, we didn't feel comfortable even eating the food. we were scared they spit in it or some other heinous act. We paid $59 at White Castle to be treated badly and ultimately not even eat the food, I have never been treated so badly in my life! I have tried hard to figure out what exactly we were doing wrong or what bothered these guys so much. The only thing that I can assume is that it was close to closing time, and they were simply wanting to go home. This was a horrible experience. Having the people who just made out food giving us the middle finger and laughing caused everyone to feel too leery about these guys to eat the food that they prepared. We maintained a polite and positive demeanor throughout the entire ordeal but I would like someone to address this issue and honestly, I would like a refund or this to be made right as we did not deserve this treatment and not to mention 2 of the people in the car were children, a 10 year old and a 14 year old. Read moreI could be wrong but I think this place has new ownership (within the last year or so), which could explain the extreme decline in quality of food and service/speed of service at this location. The dine-in restaurant is always dirty and the soda machine and counter with condiments are filthy and often there are no napkins, straws, and condiments, which forces customers to ask the employees behind the counter for these items. I ordered via my cell phone a few weeks ago and my food still wasn't ready when I arrived. The upside of this was that I assumed I would get hot and fresh food once it was ready, but this was not to be - my fries were all brown and burned and soggy and the burgers were all dried out and gross, and none of my food was hot - it was all maybe lukewarm at best. I only ate the food so as not to waste food and money (had I thought complaining would have done any good I would have, but the people behind the counter are generally clueless). And when I was waiting for my order to be fulfilled, a gentleman who had been waiting in the drive-thru had to come into the restaurant to complain about his food - I overheard him saying he waited 20 minutes for disgusting food, and the staff behind the counter were either obtuse about it or dismissive - certainly they didn't offer to "make it right" for him. Occasionally there's a good staffperson at this location; otherwise it's a bunch of slackers and folks who seem to think they have nothing but time. Fast food is NOT fast, especially at this location, and it is NOT cheap either; if you choose to dine at this location, beware - you will NOT be getting your money's worth here, nor will you have a pleasant experience. I didn't get a physical receipt with my order (since I ordered via my phone) but in times past when I have had bad experiences with White Castle orders (like the experience at a different location where they put my frozen cheesecake on a stick in the same bag with my piping hot food and it melted) I have complained via White Castle's website and have received apology letters and free meal coupons in the mail from the company. I hate complaining all the time - I don't want to come off as some scammer looking for free stuff. It's just too bad that you can't find good service anymore. I came thru your drive thru one night last week Tuesday night March 19th around 10:30 your store was getting ready to close but I was able to order a couple sliders and some fries. Although I got extra sliders; they were dry! they were cold! They were hard! They tasted like they have been sitting out for hours! Is this the type of quality that you're serving your customers at night???? I did come back and speak with one of your staff and I was able to get a discounted item however I ordered through doordash tonight March 28th at 10:00 p.m. I ordered two fish one with cheese one with out a medium drink and a sack of fries! First my doordash was late and not only was it late my two fish were not in my order I had cold fries and the ice was melted in my sprite so I had watery beverage I am very very very unsatisfied with my order and I am extremely unhappy with service you're establishment provides especially at night!
