On a 5-star scale, Mac's deserves ten stars!! This is not the average Americanized-type of Asian food. This is a small, family-owned restaurant which has been open for about a year now. The atmosphere is rather plain, but that's not an issue at all. The food, on the other hand, knocks this place out of the park! Everything is SUPER-fresh!!, prepared fresh and quickly, and the tastes are totally beyond comparison!! Presentations are unique and very enjoyable. I can honestly say that this is the BEST Asian food I've ever had! They have a large variety of foods, but the menu is not overwhelming. Entrees include Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, as well as others. The family is very friendly, remembered us from our first visit there, and even remembered what we ordered last time! It is well worth the drive from anywhere in the metro; you won't regret it. Mac Kitchen is located on Cedar Ave (Rt. 77) in Apple Valley, a little south of County 42 (150th St), in a stirp mall that is directly across from the MVTA station. Go to the road just beyond the MVTA bridge over the road, turn right, then right into the parking lot. You will neither regret nor forget your trip to Mac Kitchen!! **I do not know if this is related to a business by the same name in Lino Lakes, MN and I have never eaten at that one, so this is just a review of Mac Kitchen,...
Read moreWe have recently discovered this hidden gem and have been amazed with everything we have ordered. We always get DoorDash or pickup - have never dined in. So I can't speak to the service or ambiance inside the restaurant. I will say that the food is really warm every time!
My husband and I agreed that they offer the best orange chicken we have ever had. Usually orange chicken at chains or other restaurants have an artificial taste, but this one tastes like they use real oranges.
We have also tried the sesame chicken and Mongolian beef. Both have great flavor! I still find the orange chicken to be the best and prefer that over the sesame chicken. The Mongolian beef has a ton of onions in it but the beef flavor is incredibly good.
My husband got the beef pho and I tried it - it was delicious too! We both agreed that the pho we have tried at other restaurants is a bit better, but it wasn't bad by any means. The broth just doesn't have as much depth as other pho I have tried.
Wontons and the sauce given are amazing too, but you can't go wrong with cream cheese wontons.
Overall I think I would stick with the Chinese food offered at this restaurant because they really...
Read moreI was visiting family in Apple Valley and had those hangry pains creep in. I Googled, "Vietnamese food near me" and found this place. What I ate: Egg Rolls: 6 out of ten (not enough fish sauce for the 3 roll order and Que Viet, Rainbow and others have much better egg rolls although these weren't bad). Spicy Chicken Wings: 8 out of ten. The wings were cooked perfectly and, as I watched the kitchen prepare them, fresh. They weren't spicy at all (my pallet) but had a really great flavor and good crunch. Beef and Potatoes: 10/10. I got this to-go and the owner implored me not to do so. This dish, when taken to-go, becomes soft (I like that) and also offered to me that the potatoes weren't up to their top standards. I loved it!!! The flavors of their oyster sauce paired with the quality of the beef. It's definitely on my favorite list. The customer service was beyond friendly as the ownership team goes out of their way to make it feel at home. I'm very happy that I discovered this hidden gem and hope that others take a chance...
