This is a good Asian market with nice selection. Yes, it is an old building and shows its age - a little renovation would go a long way, but considering the neighborhood, not likely soon. I did notice them sprucing up the entry... a good start.
The store is reasonably clean with little of the troubling fish pong you often find in Asian markets. A good sign. I notice many reviewers complain of poor service in the fish/meat section but I'm mostly not a flesh eater so not my area. Same with the pre-cooked food section as I trust few kiosk environments to prepare food for me.
They have a good selection of produce which is in nice condition and seems fairly priced. Some of the aisles are cluttered - is that the standard in Asian markets? I don't recall one that isn't like that.
As in shopping everywhere, check expire dates. I have had no problem in that area. I think their product turnover mostly eliminates the problem. Still, i check those dates and product seals wherever I shop.
As for service, I find their people try to be helpful though between language challenges and the vast differences in product names it can be a challenge. I suggest a sense of humor and a bit of patience and you'll find what you need. (It took a while but we did eventually get that white...
Read moreI felt unsafe. I am a minor, a young minor and a guy kept staring at me and he recorded or took pictures of me. i was with my mom and I turn around to see this man kneeling down with his phone pointed at me. he stayed in that isle for like 10mins before he took his pictures and left. i kept seeing him everywhere, this happened around 8pm or a bit before that, Monday, January 16th. I think the man may have worked there because he was speaking to another person that worked there and was carrying boxes. also the workers at the fish area were also looking at me in a creepy way. i do not feel safe there. DONT GO. (he is Asian, he wears glasses and he...
Read moreThis is my go to for Asian foods. This place is great! Has exotic fruits you can't get in American super markets. You can order meats at the meat counter & they will give you the weight you want and cut the meat for you. I have them shave the meat thin for Pho' soup or Korean tacos. They also have a fresh seafood counter. Every kind of seasoning & sauces to choose from. Fresh fruits & vegetables or canned fruits & vegetables. They have what you need to make Asian dishes or go to frozen section and buy Asian dishes already prepared. They have an entire isle of Ramen Noodles. I've been coming here for years! You will...
