Twins Ace Hardware Arlington — Attraction in Arlington

My experience with Ace Hardware is solely from where I grew up in CT. This is a lot different, in a better way (I guess that’s a subjective thought). I was “used to” an unorganized place full of actual hardware from a-z as well as a lot of indoor/outdoor paint and a paint mixer. In short, I was used to Ace hardware being targeted at real handymen in the midst of a project and in need or something very specific. This store is like “a little of everything” for every part of your apartment. It’s walkable from a lot of apartments around here, and it sells all sorts of things you might need in your apartment (you don’t need to be a handyman or hardcore DIY-er to find a bunch of useful things). A huge variety of things you might need in a pinch. Granted, most are really overpriced, but I wouldn’t complain because it’s all about convenience and location. If you complain about the prices, go ahead and drive into Virginia, lose an hour of your day and walk up and down a huge store. Absolutely wonderful customer service experience. Was asked if I needed help as soon as I walked in and the woman who was the cashier radio'd the person I needed to talk to. Will, one of the associates came right up to me and asked me what I needed and just did an outstanding job. I had a list of what I needed and he showed me where each item was, listened to what I was going to use it for and gave me expert recommendations also cut a piece of plexiglass I needed for my project AND rung me up and asked if I needed a big bag to carry my items home and gave it to me! For someone who has lived on both coasts and everywhere in between this was the best hardware customer service I have ever received and I am definitely going to give them any and all of my business going forward. This store combines everything you loved about neighborhood hardware stores of the past with the best of 21st century shops. Well stocked with wide inventory of standard hardware products as well as beautiful plants, small toys even refrigerator magnets. Their prices are comparable or lower than those in big box stores. Spotlessly clean before COvid & now all employees wears masks, maintain distance & have plexiglass panel at register. I wanted an item not in stock, they ordered at no additional cost to me& called when available 3 days later.

But the best part of this store is the SERVICE. I have shopped there for almost 5 years & in every visit the employees are available to help you find the items in your list & actually listen to your questions. They are able to answer questions about which item best meets your needs or find someone who can whether it is lightbulbs or varnish. I always go out smiling after...
