PLEASE BEFORE YOU GET YOUR CAR SERVICED BY THESE GUYS, READ THIS REVIEW. I want to preface this with all the important info. My car is a 2008 Chevy Uplander with 78,000 miles on it. had 66,000 when we got it. we have had it for just under two years now. We got our transmission fluid changed at the end of January this year, 2020 by Valvoline Instant Oil Change in Smokey Point Washington. We had ZERO problems with our transmission. only got it changed because the place we bought it from, Mission Motors, told us to change the transmission fluid in XX amount of miles. AGAIN WE HAD ZERO PROBLEMS WITH SLIPPING OR SOUNDS OR ANYTHING before these guys worked on our car. Our car started having problems with what they told us were "hiccups" but now know from talking to Chevy and AtoZ transmission that it was the transmission slipping. We went back in the next day and they said it was normal. They topped it off and sent us on our way. We were still having problems with the transmission and this defeaning roaring sound coming from the engine when we went past 30 and stopped off somewhere around 45. THEY TOLD US IT WAS NORMAL. About 2 weeks ago our car went into limp mode. We took it to everywhere you could imagine to see what was wrong. it was coding EVERY code it could for transmission and the transmission experts said its next to impossible with the miles and wear on the car. My car is now dead and its a 4000$ fix. This car is the only way for My Husband, Myself and our three kids to get anywhere. We cant even get to a job. Valvoline ruined our car. Please for the love of everything you love, do not get your car serviced by ANY of these Valvoline. The workers move back and forth between locations so you can never be...
Read moreIf I could give this place ZERO stars I would- I should have learned from my first Experience... first time I went there in my ford truck all was ok but the guys helping me were like zombies no personality not friendly- I leave and smell oil which he never happen to my truck since I’ve owned it- oil cap was NOT on leaked oil everywhere- i call to complain and was told a manager would call me back- 3 days later I received a call- and this manager clAimed wasn’t their fault- after paying for the oil mess and refilling oil I was livid and figured I’d just move on. I go in today which was a horrible mistake with my bmw to check price for oil change - and this time I’d check to make sure cap was on - somehow thought I’d give them a second chance- the guy was young and not friendly. I was like inconveniencing him being there- they checked lights and told me price- as they were getting ready to drain the oil, he upsold me on the filter stating it’s the only filter and it was 15$$$ more!! I said filter should be included, nope. I have a bmw so it was more because it’s a special filter. He told me my oil was bearly reading on the stick.... as in I had zero oil.... also told me I’d have to pay An additional 10 for each quart added - coming to almost 150$ !! when the oil change was quoted at 89.99 plus tax..... this place is horrible and I use to go when it was oil can Henry’s and never had An issue. I will never recommend this place and plan on telling everyone I know about how I was treated twice! I ended up leaving telling them to stop and went to Another place that said I was only 2 quarts low and...
Read moreI usually take my truck to Jiffy Lube, but occasionally we go to Valvoline. When we arrived, we were greeted by Nathaniel, and I told him I needed an oil change for my 2500. He mentioned that my air filter also needed to be replaced, quoting me a price of approx $26. I approved the quote, and they replaced the air filter.
When it was time to pay, I asked to review the charges. That's when Nathaniel realized he had to give me a breakdown of the costs and admitted that the price he quoted for the air filter was incorrect. Instead of $26, the actual price was $45. I immediately asked him to remove the air filter charge, as neither he nor the other gentleman had the courtesy to ask if I was okay with the price increase. It wasn’t so much about the price itself, but the principle of them attempting to charge me without informing me first.
I then asked him to put the original air filter back, as I’d prefer to go to a different establishment and buy one myself, rather than pay them for what I felt was a dishonest practice. When I asked how the price had doubled, Nathaniel explained that some trucks require a larger filter, which didn’t make sense to me, especially since he had the filter in hand when he initially quoted me the $26 price.
