My daughter had to a class project to do, write a letter to a small business to determine how they are dealing, what changes they have had to make, and how they were doing with Covid19. She had to send it to the owner John, Linda the manager told us to follow up in a couple weeks if we did not hear back right away due to it being around Easter. She waited for the Easter rush to be over to follow up, Linda was extremely rude acted like taking a few moments to speak to us was a huge inconvenience. We were told that we would hear back by phone or email that day and WE STILL HAVE NOT HEARD. It has been 2 weeks since we followed up from a letter that was written to them before Easter. We understand this company is busy at times, but it would take 5 minutes to send an email to answer a few questions, that a child thought would be a great business to reach out to during this pandemic.
THANK YOU VALOS FOR THE ZERO THAT MY CHILD GOT ON HER ASSIGNMENT BECAUSE YOU DID NOT RESPOND BACK.... and YES, Linda was informed that in order to get a grade she had to get a response.
We will NO LONGER support your business or fundraisers. And we will tell others with children not to waste their time with your company or fundraisers since you don’t seem to care...
Read moreVery nice chocolates. I never knew this place existed! Valos also sells their chocolates in some Giant Eagles (like the one in Verona). It's not too expensive and definitely quite high quality. I tried out their caramel coated in milk chocolate and solid milk chocolate candy made without sugar.
For a sugar free candy, this one was very good! Yes, you can definitely tell it's not the same as a regular chocolate made with tons of sugar, but it's 80% there. I'm glad they make items like this for those who are more health-conscious (its only 130 calories for a decent sized chocolate, and it will satisfy your sweet tooth). The texture is a bit tough but still very good.
I also really liked the caramel chocolates. This was a thick candy and also had a pretty decent price. The milk chocolate tasted perfect. Creamy, sweet, melts in your mouth. And they use loads of caramel (which does make it a bit tough to eat. Also, this caramel isn't like Sarris where it oozes out when you open the chocolate; it's quite solid). It will surely satisfy and caramel craving you have.
All in all, nice to have a great chocolatier like this in New Kensington. You could even find some of their candies in local shops, like Verona Giant Eagle. Great quality and...
Read moreThey never replied. My daughters class had to reach out in a letter to local businesses to ask a few questions about how they are dealing with the covid 19 and how they have changed they way they conduct business with the public and how are they staying safe. I spoke with linda about it and she informed me to mail the letter and she would make sure john would see it. We called a few weeks later to follow up like we were told and at that time linda was very rude saying they were busy. But to be fair to it was after easter and as for not replying i asked that he could send an email to save him time and didnt get a response. So thank you to valos candy for the ZERO my child got for not replying. We will no longer purchasing anything from them and will not sell any...
