We didn’t realize it was st. Patrick’s day we were on a job nearby and came here for lunch. We waited to be seated, as the sign states, no one came to seat us, spots opened up at the bar so we sat at the bar. The bartender told us none of the drafts were good, whatever a bottles fine. I wanted to try the calamari, they’re out, seafood, that could be a good sign that they’re out, whatever. We order spinach artichoke dip, delicious and the bread with it was perfect. After we order our appetizer, she informs us they’re also out of fries… a bar out of fies on st Patrick’s day at 2pm??? We thought, well I don’t really want a burger or much at all without fries.. I was craving fries on my cheat day. The menu states “ask about our other daily sides” when I asked, the bartender didn’t seem to know what I ask talking about and said usually a baked potato or soup. At that point we had already got drinks and an appetizer so we were stuck, we thought let’s just order wings and get back to our job cause we wanted to leave. We ordered the Thai chili, mango habanero, and old bay garlic Parmesan. She said there wasn’t any old bay garlic Parmesan that it was one or the other, whatever but at this point we just got the vibe she was annoyed with us, for trying to order from the menu.. the menu said in the list of sauces “garlic Parmesan, old bay garlic Parmesan,” and it didn’t matter anyway because, guess what, they were out of wings too.
Nah we won’t be back we’re not from the area and there’s plenty of other places around that look great that hopefully won’t waste our time when we take lunch. I just thought a bar would plan ahead better for a major drinking holiday. I also don’t appreciate the unawareness of what’s clearly stated on the menu. Yea all the girls who looked liked hostesses were standing around and looked right at us waiting for a table while we were standing there for several minutes waiting to be seated. Only way we’d come back is if it were free, and we still wouldn’t. like I said there are plenty of other places we want to try when we’re out here for work. We went somewhere else took 3x as long on break because of your lack of planning, lack of staffing & prep and clear lack on management costed us over $100 of our time. After looking at other reviews it looks like you guys are beginning to go under with the new...
Read moreShould've just stayed home. I've worked in hospitality ten years, and I work on a three strike system. Since Ash Taphouse is within a reasonable distance from me, I am finally writing this review on the third strike since they've rebranded.
This place is AWFUL. I used to frequent here when it was Beermuda and the food, the vibe, and the service have slipped significantly. The wings that I ordered in separate styles are rubbery, and overcooked. Each time it's been so disappointing to drop 10 on a pound of wings only to not be able to finish them. The breading comes off, the sauce is cheap, and despite waiting for a half hour for them, they are small, tasteless, and slippery.
The drink selection is always nebulous. They have a decent selection of bottled // canned beer, but I have been there when nobody is in there and when the bar is full, and not once have I been told about specials, selection, etc. The first two times I was here, the draft system was down.
The Vibe is great if you like older white men gawking at bartenders(?). I felt uncomfortable every time I've been there. The people who frequent here quite literally LEER at the bartenders, and I'm disappointed that management does nothing to rectify this. Some of the patrons are downright creepy, and as stated before i work in hospitality and know we have no control over who walks in the door, however, this creates an uncomfortable scenario and atmosphere for both the staff and...
Read moreI loved this place when it was Beermuda, and I still liked the place after it changed, but sadly the quality seems to be in decline. My favorite dish, the Chorizo Sausage & Shrimp Linguini, has declined in it's taste and become nearly bland. Not to mention, I ordered that dish for a delivery along with their mac and cheese and only the mac and cheese showed up. When the store was contacted, they admitted they forgot to make it. How do you forget to make something for a customer? I'll still eat from here on occasion, but not happy with the direction it seems to be heading.
Delivery is available through a third party, and since I ordered through it I ended up paying all kinds of fees only to receive 50% of the food I ordered and not even the main dish. Third party says it's Ash's fault they forgot the food, but CC charge is to third party, so where do I go?
Response to Owner: I appreciate you reaching out. I do still love your food, or did. I haven't ordered or been there since this fiasco. I'm not sure what staffing issues has to do with only preparing and shipping half the meal that was ordered? Was the person that makes the other half not there? I am not looking for free food or a gift certificate, so I don't plan to call in. I hope my experience drives you to do better and/or implement policies so mistakes like mine do not happen. Not to mention get the Chorizo Sausage & Shrimp recipe back...
