In my opinion, this is the best "Antique Barn" in the South! Upon your arrival, you will be uncertain as to where to enter, but don't be confused, just go in wherever you see an opening. There are a couple of ways to enter into this building. When you enter, you will feel like you stepped back in time. Stop for a moment as you enter to smell history. The smell alone will take you back a hundred years or more. In this magical antique barn, you will discover many treasures. Take your time to look around. It will take you at least two hours to fully experience this amazing place. At first you may just go to the "Antique Tobacco Barn" to look around, but then as you wander, there will be certain antiques that will speak to you, by calling your name to bring it home with you. These antiques will even tell you where they want to be placed in your home or yard.
Seriously, this place is magical! It will take you back to yesteryear, to a simpler, relaxing, less hurried time period. Many of you will be touched emotionally, because it will bring back such warm memories of your youth.
The staff are friendly, the prices are fair and the antiques are genuine and often rare finds. Please be careful what you pick up, because like most old barns, you could very well pick up a rare black widow spider. Just remember to be careful and observant and you will be fine. Hey, its an old building with antiques that are of all ages, some even 100 years or more old. I assure you that if you want to time travel and you enjoy antiques, you will want to spend a part of your leisure, shopping at the Antique Tobacco...
Read moreI’ve been coming here for awhile because I live right across the river, the barista and the vendors are super nice and I just love antique shopping/window shopping. It reminds me of my nana. This place is huge and has some deals and some stuff that’s clearly overpriced. Well today I found a couple of small scrap papers with vintage map prints on them and after talking to the vendor a second decided to get them. Grift/griff (not sure the name) was at front and this was our convo:
Me, after seeing price on others but not this particular two: how much are these Him: $5 Me: oh really? others said $1.50 Him: no, those are $5 Me: um ok goes to vendor and asks Vendor: oh those are just little scrap papers, they’re $1.50 Me to grift/griff whatever: she said 1.50 Him: whatever Me: so why did you up the price on these little scraps? Him, annoyed: they change the prices every day Me having bought them before: they didn’t though the ones in front are more but these have always been $1.50 that’s a big difference Him, super annoyed: they do change the prices whenever they feel like it Me: go to vendor to ask about it Vendor to him: they’ve always been $1.50 Him: ok whatever Like he so did not care and was mostly annoyed I would question his authority. I’ve been there a few times with the “bros” in front being saucy as hell. Will not return. Enjoy...
Read moreI love the Antique Tobacco Barn. We have a second home not too far away in Franklin. I never come up to NC without making a trip to Asheville specifically to the Barn. Half the furniture in my living room and master bedroom I bought there over the last 17 years. I love spending all afternoon walking thru all the booths. And believe me...you need all afternoon. They have such unique things there. It's like entering a time machine...mixed in with some new items.
I saw others complaining on here about the prices or the lack of a/c or heat. First, I have always felt their prices were more than fair for the quality of the merchandise I have purchased. Secondly, I don't expect to come to a BARN and have a/c and heat. There are fans going in the summer. And heaters in the winter. Just dress appropriately.
The only problem I have now, is that I literally have no more room in my homes for even one more piece of furniture. But that won't keep me from going there during the Xmas Holidays. Wouldn't miss it for the world. After all...you never know, do you?
