I will try to not be too over the top with this review. But, it will be difficult since we both enjoyed it so much!
If I could, I would've rated this place 8 or 9 stars! We booked just two nights initially since we didn't know how long we were going to stay in Asheville. Our first room was the whole top floor! A beautiful suite of a large living room, the turret room, a small room off to the side for coffee and a small refrigerator, a large bedroom and a roomy bathroom with shower.
The decor of the home reminds you of some of the early days when the original folks may have lived there. Everything was spotless. But, still had the modern facilities one would hope for. TV, WiFi, AC. We did not watch much TV since we did go out and enjoy some the offerings of Asheville. But the WiFi is good, and everything else worked fine.
Breakfast was amazing! Many places will offer a buffet of the usual eggs, bacon, toast, oatmeal, etc. Not here! Breakfast was specially prepared by an amazing chef, fresh each morning. Our First morning started off with baked pear with homemade whipped cream and a candied bacon topping, followed by eggs Benedict. Fresh coffee and juices. Second morning started with pancake poppers with blueberries and lemon sugar glaze, followed by a baked half potato with a poached egg and cheese inside. Absolutely amazing! Day three was, I believe, homemade yogurt that tasted as smooth and creamy as creme brulle without the burnt sugar glazing, with fresh fruit! Followed that with two poached eggs in a tomato bisque with toast. Loved it! And, I am not one to get all excited about breakfast, usually ok with "the usual fare". But, the care and attention they give to the breakfasts deserve raving!! 5 stars without a doubt!
The first two days, we ate breakfast in the dining room, with the other house guests and enjoyed some friendly conversation. Day three, we ate breakfast out on the porch and enjoyed a wonderful morning view over looking the hills. (Photo included)
We decided to stay another day, but the suite we were in was already booked, but they gave us the Honeymoon cottage (which was fun since it we were celebrating our 30th anniversary!) A nice. cozy room with a heart shaped Jacuzzi, shower, wonderfully comfortable bed and fireplace (not that we needed it, but it did add to the romantic aspect!)
We were very close to the entrance to the Biltmore Estates, and a short drive from downtown Asheville so visiting the sites down there was no problem.
There is also a very nice outdoor seating area with a small fire pit for chillier weather, and a nice view from there out to the hills.
The staff was great and super friendly! Monica, our primary contact, was also helpful in pointing out different places to visit, eat and just spend time at.
Our photos of the room do not do them justice. The photos from the website are very accurate and show the rooms just as they are. So, if you want to get an idea of how things look, those are great to judge by.
We are going to return to Asheville, hopefully this winter, and we will definitely be staying here if there is room!! You will not be...
Read moreWe booked two nights at the Biltmore Village Inn Bed & Breakfast in the Biltmore Suite in December while we visited the Christmas at Biltmore and Italian Renaissance Exhibition in Asheville, NC. The Biltmore Village Inn Bed & Breakfast is conveniently located within walking distance to Biltmore Village, which is a plus.
Check-in was unremarkable, though carrying up luggage up to the second floor room on a narrow staircase was somewhat challenging, especially since there was no effort on the part of the staff to assist us with the luggage. We noticed that the Inn staff were very hands-off and mostly absent during our stay.
The Biltmore Suite room was nice. The large king bed mattress is very high, so step stools were thoughtfully placed at each side of the bed for ease of entry. The room is well appointed – decorated with period furniture and accessories. We did miss a TV in the master bedroom, but were able to watch TV through the door opening into the adjacent suite. The sofa in the suite was worn - the springs and cushions gave way when the sofa was sat upon and you sank down into the sofa. The sofa needs refurbishment.
The presentation of breakfast was extraordinary. However, the taste didn’t live up to the awesome visual display. The food was bland and the ingredients competed with one another, rather than being complementary. We noted there seems to be a trend with B&Bs to serve a sweet breakfast entrée versus a more savory meal. We generally prefer savory, so we were a tad disappointed by our two breakfasts at the Biltmore Village Inn Bed and Breakfast – it seemed like we were having a sweet dessert for breakfast.
The Inn offered free non-alcoholic drinks and cookies in the first floor dining room which was nice. The Inn apparently used to offer afternoon wine and appetizers at one time, but it was not offered during our stay (even though the brochures on the tables stated that). Another couple who were staying at the Inn said that service and offerings had diminished since Covid. They had their honeymoon at the Inn many years ago and have been coming back for their anniversary each year since.
We will not be staying at this luxury inn again. We do not believe the Biltmore Village Inn is a good value for the high costs. In our opinion, the nearby Oakland Cottage and North Lodge on Oakland are...
Read moreWe just got married at the Biltmore and I cannot express how beautiful and perfect it was. Monica and Mathilda were incredibly helpful and accommodating from day 1, always timely and efficient communicators, well organized, and helped guide us to the most amazing day. Once we arrived, we were blown away by the beautiful grounds and rooms here. My family rented several rooms in the Inn and we were like little kids when we arrived, running from room to room and in awe of how spacious, ornate, and gorgeous each room was, and each with their own big tubs for relaxing baths after our long hikes. We stayed in the Deluxe Cottage, which is a 30 second walk from the house and a more private arrangement with a big tub AND and outdoor jacuzzi! Not to mention the breakfasts, Tom the chef is a brilliant brilliant man. Each day was something new and delicious. And then the actual wedding day, it blew away all my expectations because it was well organized without feeling rushed or too structured, the entire staff was up-beat and happy to help, and every single vendor (photography, hair/makeup, officiant, cake maker, florist) were of the same incredibly high quality as the Biltmore Village Inn. It was simply spectacular. We got married under the pergola overlooking the mountains and then sat on their comfy chairs to watch the sunset on our last night. I have nothing but happy memories of my week there and I thank the Biltmore for that! Literally everyone there, Monica, Mathilda, Sarah, Ted, and everyone I missed, thank you for making my special day so special! I can't...
