Biltmore Computers — Attraction in Asheville

I cannot say enough good things about the owner, Hunter, and the organization he runs. I have an old Dell tower with a single SSD slot and a first-generation card that needed to be replaced with a larger one. Having a Dell software service contract, I contacted them to recommend the larger SSD. When I tried to clone it (due to the single slot), it wouldn't work. I contacted Dell for help. Nothing they recommended worked until they got to recommendations that were beyond my comfort zone to perform. What they were suggesting, they informed me, may lose data, and eventually, the OS may need to be rebuilt. Instead, I took the machine to Biltmore Computers. They cloned and installed the new SSD as well as an upgraded Nvidia graphics card - my old one was running too slow for the new apps. Then they ran into trouble installing Win 11, despite MS claims it would be a seamless process. I connected Hunter with Dell techs to check for alternate install methods. Everything Dell recommended Hunter was about to do. Ultimately, after much effort on Hunter's part, the download completed, no data was lost, no OS rebild necessary, and the machine works flawlessly and faster. I called and emailed Hunter at Biltmore Computers about a broken hinge on an 8 year-old Lenovo Yoga laptop and asked whether it was worth repairing and if he could repair it. He replied to my email and left a voicemail within hours, suggesting that I bring it in and so he could check it out. I made an appointment for the next day and took it in. He opened it up while I waited, found hinge screws that had fallen out inside the case and one that had broken off from the chassis. He estimated it would cost a couple hundred dollars in parts and labor to replace the chassis which probably was not a good investment for a laptop this old. He replaced the screws, blew dust out of the case and put it all back together quickly, charging a very reasonable fee for labor. He said that these convertible Lenovo's have a history of hinge problems and that it was likely to recur since one screw mount was now broken. We discussed options for buying a refurbished computer from his large inventory when the Lenovo fails again. I don't have one positive thing to say about my entire experience. We dropped off my computer on a Friday and we weren't given any potential time frame of when it would be looked at. Friday and Saturday go by with 0 communication and then they were closed on Sunday, we called multiple times and no one ever answered, and after a few more days someone finally returned our voicemail to tell us that they still hadnt even looked at it. And even when we picked it up we weren't told what the default password would be and we weren't prepared on how to reset the windows program to where it would actually function. If I ever have computer troubles again, I'm definitely not bringing it here.

EDIT : they purposely sought out my personal phone number to try and keep their perfect record. I'm not giving the name that the account is under at their business and yes I've left my review on the correct business. We chose them because of how close they are compared to others.
