This would be a great place to eat if it wasn’t for the poor customer service. This is my mother-in-law‘s favorite place so we tend to pick up a to go order 2 to 3 times a week. Half the time to order is incorrect. Sometimes we catch it and it is promptly replaced. Other times the request is met by poorly trained staff and management. For instance, I called to place the order the young lady takes the order and repeats it back to me I tell her I’m on my way. I get to the restaurant and bring it home. Once home I realize the order was incorrect. I call the restaurant and instead of offering for me to bring the food back and replace It. I am told “ That is what you ordered and I read it back to you. It wasn’t wrong”. When I explained that that was not what I ordered the young lady began to argue with me. I asked for a manager and was told that he was not there. I then said I’ll speak to the owner next time I come in. She said that’s fine and disconnected the line. Another time that same cashier takes my order and when I get to the restaurant there are hotdogs in a box with coleslaw and onions but no bun. I realize it and take it back and show them the hotdogs they remake my order by sliding the food from one container into open container with the bun. So now I have three hotdogs with chili coleslaw and onions all over the box and underneath the hot dog making the bread soggy. Fast forward to tonight. I placed my order by phone go into the restaurant to pick it up and add something else to my order when paying. I get my food and take it home it’s missing something. I called on the phone and speak to the one girl there that is always smiling and pleasant. I explain the situation and she placed me on hold all the while I can hear the conversation in the background she comes back to the phone and says her manager (Javi) will replace the cheese on my order next time I come in but I will have to pay for the tater tot‘s. Now normally this be fine. However, they consistently get my order incorrect. Good customer service is not saying I’m sorry were giving you dry tater tot‘s although that’s not what you ordered. Next time we will replace your topping but you will pay for the tots. It’s saying hey we made a mistake (that goes a long way) let us make it right. Bring it back and we will do it again for you. It’s really sad that poorly trained staff with bad attitudes will cause such a nice restaurant and owner to lose business and get...
Read moreI don't complain, I always give the benefit of the doubt and never write a negative review. I see this restaurant has a number of five star reviews but this is my opinion. I should have known when I read the sign on the marquee, 'Now hiring, cashier and cook' that we might be in for a bumpy ride but we were stopping here around 5:00 on the way to the Asheville Airport and had that taste for a burger. They advertise shakes, so as a special treat we ordered one with our hamburger and 'fryz'. The plain hamburger was topped with cole slaw and a squirt of mustard. The ticket receipt had 'plain' printed on it. OK, I can scrap that off, I'm disappointed but I'll let it slide. Our shakes weren't ready with the burgers, but that's OK. As I sipped the shake I noticed ice crystals, the further in the more there were until the very bottom where those were larger than the straw. Obliviously the ice cream was frozen ice milk. Now that is not acceptable because it's not an error but a decision by ownership. I squeezed the last breath out of our Hunt's ketchup bottle and got a different one from the next table. So, either no one rechecked the tables between lunch and dinner or my table had recently been used by the world's largest ketchup user. A gentleman minding the dining tables with a spray sanitizer bottle seemed to be 'management' sat for a long while with customers next to us and then went to a table to relevel it by flipping it up side down and adjusting the feet. Put a wedge under it and adjust when there aren't customers in the restaurant. He should have been in the kitchen, the heart of the operation if you're short staff, let one of the kids refill ketchups, sanitize tables after use and sit with customers. Competition is stiff in the restaurant business, I'm afraid this establishment isn't...
Read moreI have been going to Hendersonville quite frequently for the past 3 or more years. Had seen the French Fryz sign every visit and wanted to stop and try the food when i had the opportunity. Time and convenience have always been issues. Finally today i decided to make the time and satisfy my curiosity (and the rumblings in my belly..lol). Had my brother and a friend with me and they were almost as eager as I to try these fries that were actually the name if the restaurant! We walked thru the doors and there was no sign to tell us where to go or what to do (I now know that you go to the counter to place your order.) After standing at the door for maybe 3 minutes and not seeing anyone, we go to a table and sit down. We noticed a guy at the counter talking with someone (cook? waitress? cashier?) There was no one there to take our order? tell us what to do? explain the concept? By this time I'm very confused, upset, but most of all I was very disappointed. I hope you can tell that I was really looking forward to this experience. That is the only reason I am writing this. I was hoping to have the great experience that, from reading the reviews, others had. I'm guessing by now you know the outcome of my visit to French Fryz. After being totally ignored or invisible, or whatever we were, we left the restaurant very disappointed and still hungry. We stopped and ate down the road at Texas Roadhouse where we were greeted by friendly ushers, waited in by a fantastic waitress, and ate a delicious meal. Still, I am wondering , if not for my invisibility, what kind of evening could I have had at...
