Very disappointing. Upon arrival we had read reviews about this place and were hooked almost immediately. We had arrived at 9:50am or so and were told it would be a 10-15 min wait for a table however, one waiter was kind enough to offer us 2 seats at the bar. And to note, we were not upset about the wait for a table what so ever because of how amazing this place looked. Our order was taken at 10am just ten minutes after entering. The part that absolutely ruined our very first visit was the fact that we had been sitting there till 11:10am, an entire hour later, and never got any update on where our order was. Not a single employee had the audacity to simply swing by and tell us what was taking so long. Keep in mind, our order was extremely small. We had ordered 1 order of french toast with chicken and a very simple breakfast sampler. The part that makes it even worse is the fact that we were looking around the restaurant the entire hour and noticed that customers that had come in way after us were getting their food before us! Very unprofessional, I suggest the owner of the place get their employees straight or train them a whole lot more. We did not get a single glance the entire hour and had even tried getting waiters attention. My advice? Treat every person that walks through that door like a brand new customer. Absolutely disappointing, we were genuinely excited to become a regular however, our first visit will also be our last. If you come to eat here, be ready to not get any information on how long your food may take, not even an estimate. After an hour of watching others get their food before us when they had come in after us? we were disgusted and...

We were excited to check this place out since it moved locations. You can never have too many all-day breakfast places in the area. If you follow me on Yelp, you know that I am partial to a different local breakfast spot. But after checking out the menu online, I felt like it was promising.

Unfortunately, we arrived at what must have been their peak busy time. We were quoted a wait time of about 45 minutes for our party of 5. They took down our phone number and we waited in the car, as it was cold and raining outside. Thankfully the wait ended up being a bit shorter (maybe only 30 minutes).

Once we were seated, our waiter promptly took our orders. The menu was more extensive than the other breakfast spot, which was a plus. Our orders arrived in a reasonable timeframe. So far, so good! But once our food arrived I had to start deducting stars. I ordered my breakfast burrito without bacon. It arrived with...you guessed it...bacon. So they had to remake it. My son's pancakes were supposed to be gluten free. They brought him regular pancakes, which could have been very harmful had I not caught it.

But what really ruined it for me was the taste of the food. It was just ok. The potatoes were dry and had a weird flavor to them. My son's pancakes were dry and flavorless. He had to add a ton of syrup (artificial at that) to even eat them.

We took a family vote, and the family unanimously preferred the other restaurant. I guess it all depends on what you are expecting. If you are looking for a slightly-elevated diner experience, then this is your spot. But if you are looking for a quality, fresh flavorful meal, then you might want to...

Today my husband and I decided to treat ourselves with a little breakfast date. We chose to go to Abuelas Little Kitchen after driving past it for weeks. When we first arrived at the restaurant I was impressed by the decor and the vibe. The traditional Mexican themes that were included in the design were beautiful. We sat down to order and the menu had plenty of options. We were on limited time and expected to eat and enjoy our meal within an hour. Unfortunately that did not happen. After we ordered our drinks and food we waited patiently for a very long time to eat. After the first 40 minutes of waiting it seemed like our food would never come. We had to ask our server to figure out what was going on, and she responded saying she didn’t know and was afraid to go check for her self because of backlash from the cooks. She ended up getting the manager to check on it. After waiting almost an hour our food finally came. I was very disappointed with the wait time. I don’t expect a restaurant to function at a fast food pace, but almost an hour of waiting for eggs was ridiculous. While the staff seemed cordial, they weren’t very hospitable. I didn’t get a friendly helpful vibe from anyone. The food was pretty good, but it was not worth the wait. I noticed other people waiting for long periods of time for their food as well. I believe they could improve on their food serving time and the personalities of their staff. Don’t think we will be returning, but wish them the best. ** also, the manager could improve on interacting with customers, ensuring they were having a...

Wow!! Where do we even BEGIN to say how much we loved this place?!? The service was phenomenal!!! The food was absolutely delectable!!! I got the breakfast tacos - the chorizo had an amazing flavor, my potatoes were perfectly crisp and the cilantro tasted so fresh!! My husband got the chilaquiles and they did an amazing job at making them super flavorful without being soggy - which is hard to do!! We split a Cajeta with Lechera pancake (which was essentially a thick seemed condensed milk and rich caramel sauce) and oh my goodness!! Perfectly fluffy and so flavorful - even their butter seemed to have an amazing flavor!! We both washed down breakfast with a perfectly crisp Coca Cola - We would not change a thing about our order!! We want to go back and order the exact same thing but, odds are, seeing as how good all that was - everything else is probably equally amazing!! Do NOT pass up the opportunity to eat breakfast here!!!! We also caught a glimpse at the aqua Frescas at the table next to us and, if we would have had ANY room left in our stomach, we would have loved to try one (might have to come back for an afternoon dessert ;))

Decided to stop in after an appointment in the same complex, very glad I did! Abuela's Little Kitchen is a new favorite place of mine and a great addition to the South Avl area. The kitchen and dining room were sparkling clean, with a lovely atmosphere. Service was fast and the staff was super friendly and attentive. I ordered the Huevos a la Mexicana: 3 scrambled eggs with Serrano pepper, onion and tomato. Basic, but I could tell they were fresh/quality ingredients and the eggs were cooked perfectly. It came with potatoes and a choice between pancakes, toast and tortilla. I chose the pancakes and they were DELICIOUS! The only thing that could make this place better is vegan options.
