Update: I actually lowered this a point based on the owner's response. The essential idea of the response was, "You didn't win, so you left a bad review," and you didn't have enough people. It's actually the opposite of this; we have gone to over 30 escape rooms in the last two years, and this one simply had a boring plot and less than interactive staff. It felt very bland, which explains the corporate feeling. As for it being "difficult," it wasn't. We made it to the last chamber, and we're two moved away; it was way, way too easy, and even when it wasn't, it didn't make sense. I'm glad you all are #1 in Asheville, but it doesn't change that the game feels corporate and lacks a story. As for there being more than just locks there weren't, there was maybe one extra thing which was the bowling pins.
Original:
You know, when you go to a place and it feels like a corporation, this is it. This felt very watered down; the storyline was very weak, the prices were average, and the customer service was there, but it was nothing to be excited about. It isn't enjoyable because there was a lot of potential in a place like this. Additionally the room we did was about a saboteur ruining the circus and yet with this it was just a bunch of locks. There is so much more that could have been done even with the idea of The Saboteur there was only one option to actually sabotage the game. Very...
Read moreWe had an excellent experience with our group in the Wonder Cabin Escape room. The puzzles were challenging and the theme well thought out. Amy was an great game master and host.
We had such a good time with the Wonder Cabin we came back the next morning and did the Davinci Diamond. This adventure was also very challenging. In the end of this experience we had to defuse a bomb, which really taxed our abilities to work within time limit pressure. Amy was our host for this one also, and again did a great job.
The name of this business is Fox and Otter. Amy explained that the name refer to the different thinking processes used by these animals. One escape room was set up fox style and one was otter style. I would highly recommend this to any group or family as a wonderful adventure and team building experience. The Wonder Cabin would be especially good for a family with younger children.
Thanks again Amy!! Looking forward to visiting again the next time we come...
Read moreSo tonight was my son and I first time ever doing An escape room. And it was so much fun! The first thing that I have to point out was while I was trying to find where to park, Ethan gave me a courtesy call and guided me through the parking lot to where I needed to park. Then he called me again as I was walking up to the otter place because he was literally going to walk out and try to find me and show me where the place was. You don’t get amazing customer service like that. He was extremely helpful to my son and I. I must say I’m not the brightest with clues and codes. But my son sure was. We definitely worked together so perfectly tonight. Ethan was super helpful with the hints and truly helping us along the way. I must say though, I’ll definitely be coming back. Wish more establishments had employees like Ethan. Super nice. Courteous. Helpful and respectful. Can’t wait to be back again and hopefully Ethan will be our...
