It's always a pleasure to take a walk through North Mtn Park. Don't take your pups or you'll have to leave them in the car! They aren't welcome as it protects the natural environment by keeping their scent and feces away. Even if you clean it up, certain animals, etc. may not stay in the area if they smell dogs. Certain species of plants are also affected. The walking areas are very flat and there are many places of interest, especially for a moment of solitude or to watch birds. You can look for animal prints too. There is an interactive play area for children. You could spend hours there with your little ones! The path outside the park can take you into a residential area where it is much steeper, if you'd like a bit more lift to your walk. There are picnic benches there. For a safe, in-city-but-not walk,...

I love this park because it features science education by incorporating plant identification with play. My favorite part of the park is on the east side, this is where you can find botanical gardens, animal habitats, amphitheater, and Native American traditional structures. The children's play area is creative and includes a building area, water pump, sand box and rock climbing area. The west side of the park is mostly sports fields. The easy walking trail begins downhill near a beautiful garden area with signage and ascends uphill to a small playground with a nice view. The trail brings you out to a main road and out of the park to loop you back around. It would be nice if the trail looped inside...

A group I was with arranged our lunch at this lovely place. It has a covered picnic area that you can reserve plus nature trails that are almost all accessible (I use rolling walker). Plus the place is filled with native plants, many flowers as well as some naturally wild flowers. It has a gurgling stream and a small, still pond inside the Park. It also has a building and I don't know what's inside it as we were there on Saturday and the building wasn't open. A spot to stop briefly or for...

I've been coming to Ashland for 20 years, but this was the first time I ever went to this park. It is a beautiful park with some great trails and a whole lot of green. They have some great signs detailing the native peoples and plants of the area. They have lots of play equipment and green spaces for kids to have fun.

We didn't realize plastic wasn't allowed until we already had it out there but next time we won't bring them and will only use the natural stuff provided. We had so much fun! The sand/water area was awesome! We can hardly wait to go back again.
