First time in Ashtabula and this festival. I had a good time. We parked at a mall area about a mile from the festival. They had a free shuttle to the festival grounds, which eliminated trying to find parking near the festival. Vendors are set up on the main harbor street. We started with the walleye. The walleye sandwich was very good, and the fries portion in the basket was generous. Our next stop was the bridge. It raised quite a few times while we were there, and it was interesting to see. You climb a long stairway to the wine tasting tent. Tickets were $30 for 10 wine tastings. You also get a souvenir wine glass. I believe there were 10 local wineries represented. So many things to do; from the wine tasting classes, to the restaurant wine pairings,to the boat tours, of course love the lighted boat parade and awesome fireworks. We literally got 3 small nuggets of walleye on a huge bun and some french fries. It was all bread and no walleye. 2 years ago you got a large piece of fish on the sandwich. I expected to eat a good amount of walleye at a walleye festival.... Maybe the one in August...
