I was recommended by my previous employer whom purchases custom jewelry for his wife and daughter every Christmas so I had high hopes. I picked out a gorgeous opal and diamond rose gold ring for my 30th birthday and took advantage of their layaway plan (we run a one income household and like many others, I stay home to take care for my daughter) When I had paid the ring off and picked it up, the opal cracked TERRIBLY after only one month. When I called Aurum, I was told that they do not offer warranties because they “guarantee” their work and take care of the customer. I brought the ring in for them to examine it and repair it. I learned repair meant to glue the stone together, preventing further damage but the cracks are still COMPLETELY visible. I spoke to the owner when I picked it up bc I was confused and not at all satisfied. She explained that’s all they could do and if I wanted to replace the stone, I would be responsible for the cost. She also explained that because a raw stone was used that it would be near impossible to find another one that would fit the setting in my ring. She told me that it’s an incredibly fragile stone and even opening a car door could’ve cracked it. When I purchased the ring, I received no instructions on care or even a box. What reputable jewelry store sells jewelry without a box?! So basically I have a broken stone and a useless piece of gold. I completely wasted every penny on this piece of jewelry. But it gets worse... an associate from the store called a few months ago to ask if I was interested in purchasing a coordinating earring set. I respectfully shared my experience with her, in hopes that the owner would contact me to resolve all of this but I never heard a word back. I almost exclusively shop small because I love the sense of community but I will NEVER shop or recommend this place to anyone. I am so disappointed in how they conduct business. It’s quite clear that your business only matters to them if you have deep pockets. Blue collar families take your business...
Read moreAurum Studios is our most trusted jeweler for creating pieces that capture the love and memories of our life. As stated in an earlier review, we asked Lori and her associates to create a special treasure using my wedding bracelet and another anniversary gift from a trip to Italy. When they presented their finished product, I laid my head in my arms and cried. It was a dream come true. Now they are doing it again. Megan measured while Lori conferred with the gifted artisan. Again, I turned to Aurum Studios because of their passion for art and creativity. If you are searching for high standards with a strong reputation in the community and state, integrity that is unmatched, and associates who are passionate about their work, you must choose Aurum Studios. Their customers, like me, are extremely loyal as we know we have chosen the best. Thank you Aurum for all your time to make our 50th Anniversary...
Read moreMy husband and I have been customers at Aurum for many, many years. I have found everyone who works there to be extremely helpful and creative. Last year they created a special ring for me made from stones from some of my mother's jewelry from the 1960's. This is something I will treasure forever. Recently my sweet husband gave me an Aurum gift certificate for Christmas and it took me a long time to figure out what special item I wanted. Everyone was so patient as I looked at what was in the store, went through catalogs, took things home to consider, brought them back until I figured out just the right piece. I can't imagine another store giving me that much attention over time to be sure I had just the right thing. Arum is a special place to me; Athens is lucky to...
