A Charming Oasis of Community and Calm in Atlanta
Candler Park is the kind of place that makes you fall in love with Atlanta all over again. Tucked into a beautiful historic neighborhood, it offers a perfect mix of laid-back green space, family-friendly recreation, and a genuine neighborhood vibe that feels warm and welcoming.
The park itself is spacious without feeling overwhelming. Wide open fields invite picnics, casual soccer games, and quiet afternoons reading under a tree. The playground is lively and well-kept, perfect for families. There’s also a public golf course tucked into the landscape, a swimming pool open in summer, tennis and basketball courts, and walking trails that are great for a morning jog or an evening stroll.
What makes Candler Park truly special is how alive it feels: kids playing, neighbors gathering, local events popping up, musicians sometimes practicing under the trees. It’s not just a park—it’s the heartbeat of a community.
It's also conveniently located near fun spots like Little Five Points, the Candler Park MARTA Station, and the Freedom Park trail connections, making it easy to pair a visit here with a broader day...

There's lots of parking nearby, so even when events at the playground or activity fields attract a lot of people, there are still usually some spaces open.
The best part of Candler, though, is that there are some very friendly local regulars who play often. This does mean that the courts get a lot of use though (especially on Tuesday evenings), so depending on how many people come out there can be a long wait to...
Read moreWith limited staff, it is hard to get a lot of time to swim but when you do get to swim, it is very nice. The water is warm, the pool is clean, and the lifeguards are doing their job as well. I feel safe and I am going to be a regular visitor every season. Thank you Brandy and Ian, and the rest of you guys for being there everyday. May I suggest giving your hired security guard more hours and a bit more pay to encourage him to stay a bit longer? I wish you guys were open until almost dark, cause sometimes, I don't get to swim because I don't get off work in time. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to all who work at...
