About one month ago(around Feb. 6, 2013), I went to Salon Red Midtown to get my hair colored only, because just a few days(Feb. 11, 2013) later I had a cut and keratin treatment scheduled at a different salon. I was told it would be best to get my color done first. So I chose Salon Red, and especially because there was a ScoutMob for this salon! I go there for my 4:30 appointment, I arrive on time but still have to wait a few minutes. And that’s okay, I wasn’t going to let that little bit of time that Cartez was late to do my hair bother me. I show him a couple of pictures of what I might like. I had an ombre to start with. He went against both pictures, and told me he had something really great in mind that I will love. I was trusting him and went with it. After being there for 4 hours, it turned out not so well. Upon leaving, Cartez and the manager were both surprised when I wasn’t excited about my hair. I told Cartez, “just like the ombre, maybe it needs to grow on me, because it took me a while to get used to my ombre.” What went wrong with this color job, was that he changed my all over color(darkened it, and that’s okay) and gave me blonde highlights with 4 inch roots. That was the part that bothered me. My hair is really long, so 4 inch roots look bad on long hair. It also looks splotchy from the back, quite like leopard print. I got the courage up to call, about 5 days after this appointment, after having my keratin treatment. The stylist who did my keratin treatment at Paragon kind of embarrassed me and talked me into calling your salon back. He asked if I needed my roots touched up, and when I told him I had just had my hair done 5 days ago, he told me to call immediately after leaving his salon. I called, and talked to a nice female(not sure of her name) who offered me an adjustment color appointment. I told her that I had just gotten a keratin treatment that day, and that I cannot have any color put on my hair for 2 weeks because it could strip the keratin. I told her who did my hair, and asked if I needed to stop by to show her and she said “No, I trust what you are saying.” Yesterday, I arrive for my appointment. Moses greets me with a warm greeting, sits me down in the chair and asks what I would like done. We have a consult, and then he says “Adjustment colors are supposed to be done within one week of the initial color, we will have to call “the office” to see if they will still grant this.” I wait patiently, only to find out that my adjustment color will not be granted and was told by Moses if he did it, if I didn’t pay, he would have to pay for the service provided to me. I was disgusted at that point and told him I did not want them to fix the color. On the phone when scheduling the adjustment color appointment, I was not told it had to be within one week of the initial appointment. Needless to say, I left crying, with no apologies from the staff. I was also shocked that they didn’t push the March 50% hair services deal, to try to get me to pay for them to fix it. And even more shocked that they didn’t try to help me at all...
Read moreI was trying to wait out the pandemic to get my hair done to limit exposure. We all know how that went and 8mo later I was in desperate need of a cut and color. I’ve never been to Salon Red in Candler Park before but I’d heard good things and their website seemed to have good Covid-19 protocol so I made an appointment after looking at Rebecca’s work on their IG. When I got there I was a little nervous tbh as I’ve only been to work and back since the pandemic hit. But, they definitely put me at ease. Before I could text them that I’d arrived someone had already come out to my car to check my temp. I noticed after they washed my hair they spent a little extra time sanitizing the station for the next person and everyone was spaced out and masked. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do but Rebecca really listened to my vague thoughts and helped me guide me on a cut and color after giving it some thought. I got a cut, balayage, and style. It was soooo good! Not to get too dramatic but I felt like a new person after leaving! The Balayage was sooo good. Rebecca seems to really understand blonde/bronde coloring. I’d gone a little blonder than usual bc I was scared it wouldn’t look good on my pale skin but after Rebecca colored it, my only regret was not going in sooner. The tones of the blond really worked. I’m definitely going back and it’s nice to have a steady hair stylist now. I was tired of shopping around and never really getting...
Read moreIt’s rare to find a talented stylist, but it’s even more rare to find a stylist who truly listens and takes the time to ensure you get exactly what you are asking for. Bonnie never fails to deliver and on top of all that, she puts you at ease with her warm and welcoming personality. She’s a gem and I’m so glad I found her!
I have to add, however, that my previous experience with a different stylist at a few days prior was subpar (and expensive). This particular stylist rushed through what should’ve been a fairly simple trim on straight, long-ish hair. They ignored my requests and didn't even give me an opportunity to provide feedback at all at the end of the appointment before taking off the cape and directing me to the register. It was quite obvious that they were ready to go home for the day because they literally told me so (!!). It’s fine to feel that way, but it’s so unprofessional to say so to a first-time client who now feels like a burden for being in your chair at all. I hope that this was just an off day for this particular stylist and that in the future they will be a little bit more considerate of their clients‘ needs and feelings. I do appreciate that Salon Red offered me an adjustment appointment free of charge — it is clear that they care about their clients’ satisfaction at the...
