⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐The Patty melt was the best I've had in years. The meat was so perfectly done, the bread toasted so as to not get soggy from the grease until I begin putting my big mouth on it. 😀 Super fresh flavor was amazing. I only had a couple of french fries but they were good too. I paired it with founders breakfast stout. Super excited to find a decent price topped off with adult drinks. The portion sizes were perfect so you're not over full. This was a choice one of our friends made given its close proximity to fernbank gardens where we were going for the glow lights displays. Don't let the business model (they don't wait tables in the traditional way) deter you from coming here and missing out on the amazing food, I can't wait to come back and wish we had one of these in McDonough. The patty melt was about $11 which is an amazing deal considering the quality and flavor. They have quite a few draft craft beers on tap and a beautiful full bar which there was lots of people sitting at watching TV. The sit-down area is separate from the bar and there were several sets of families with little kids which we don't mind at all when they're behaved. :-) given that this is a different business model, you place your order at the counter and they bring you a number for your table. Then they bring the food to you. You are served on hard plates and have real silverware. In spite of this business model of not having a genuine server, we were asked repeatedly how everything was and as the staff walked by performing other duties they cleared our table of empty plates and checked on our drinks with great timing! The staff were cheerful and helpful and had great timing for coming up to the table to check on us. Please tip them, as it is well deserved. We will be back to try more when we are in this area again. I was at a small table of four and all of us raved about the food quality and taste. I was super excited to get a founders breakfast out, which is a premium craft beer in my opinion, so for me, that is a rare combination of getting an amazing burger and a craft beer for the price I paid. The business model keeps the prices very reasonable and they apparently are doing a very robust takeout business as we saw people leaving with their orders on a pretty steady basis. So it's a good place to grab a quick bite or if you go to the bar and order, it would be an easy place to hang out for a couple of hours and watch a game. Kudos to this Moxie Burger manager, who could be seen checking on people and helping out. If you're a craft burger and beer person, you need to drop by...
Read moreFirst time at Moxie Burger and my Yelp app didn't let me down when we didn't know where to go while out of town on Valentine's Day. The objective was avoiding the crowds.
My wife and I pulled in to Moxie about 40 minutes prior to close. They had a decent crowd, but nothing that scared us away. The small bar side with several TV's was lively. To my knowledge, this is not a chain restaurant.
Walk up counter service was very friendly by a young man who helped with menu selections. Ultimately, I went with a Moxie burger and side sweet potato fries that comes with a sweet chili mayo dip. My wife got a plain n burger with no side. They offer soda and a full bar menu. I thought the value was good not great, but will reserve my opinion until after I weigh in on the food.
The dining room is casual and it was clean with staff working to clear tables and sweep floors. Always a good look when you see this. Our food came out in around 15 minutes.
I immediately went for the sweet potato fries, which is a favorite and plunged into the sweet chili mayo. Wowsers!!! The burger packed a punch and was delicious! My wife enjoyed hers equally. Both were perfectly medium well. Although it is set up as a fast casual, the cashier did swing by and ask if there was anything we needed, and how everything was. At my request he brought another container of the sweet chili, mayo that I adored.
My wife and I concluded we were impressed with the overall operation of the business. So with high praise of Moxie I'm thrilled to provide a 5 star review. If we lived in the area, we would absolutely make...
Read moreIt's an awesome burger . . . if you can get it. I spent half an hour trying to place a delivery order. Their app kept refusing to take it, saying "confirm your order" over and over and over. Finally, after 15 minutes of fooling around with this, I called the restaurant and started telling them what happened. They hung up on me. I called back and told them if they hung up on me this time I'd never darken their door again. I explained to him what was going on, and his response was, essentially, how sad for you. And we've reached the ordering cutoff now. I said I had started this miserable process 20 minutes before the cutoff. How really really sad for me. My dad used to run a retail business. His point of view was that the customer is always right and he would do whatever he had to do to make them happy. That's how he got loyal customers. Apparently, Moxie Burger is not in need of loyal customers. Had my dad heard this story, he would have made the burger anyway and delivered it himself. This is hands down the worst customer service I've had in years. It will be a long, long time before I have another...
