I have been looking for a new CF gym since moving to Atlanta in January. I've done CF for about 8 years and really loved my gym and my friends I made there and hated to leave. I knew finding a new CF was going to be hard. I tried one out a few times and even though everyone was nice and friendly, it just didn't feel right. I didn't like the area it was in. I didn't like how it was set up inside. Nothing major was wrong, I just knew it wasn't for me. It actually made me consider if I even wanted to continue doing CF anymore. Im 40 now and I just didn't know if I had it in me anymore. I started going to a regular gym, Using machines and dumbbells. I hated having to come up with my own workouts and not being in a group setting gave me absolutely no motivation to go. And it was very crowed by the time I'd get off work and get there. I found CrossFit RX when I drove past it one day. I was already discouraged about working out, but I said I'd give it one more try. I did 2 drop in classes and then I got my membership. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I like the space, and equipment is clean. It reminded me of my old CF gym and the vibes were vibing. I know it can't replace my old gym and my friends I made there, but it's making starting a new CF a little easier. Im excited to get back...
Read moreRX wins best Crossfit gym in Atlanta for a number of reasons:
Excellent facility with high ceilings, great rigs, plenty of space for a large class, and an awesome area for kiddos (who are always welcome!).
They use Wodify for workout tracking and have multiple screens for display. This is a great experience for members since you can see what your last weight or time was on any given workout so you're always improving.
Awesome coaches who really know their stuff. The skills class alone is worth admission and will help you achieve those hard-to-get moves like muscle ups and snatches. They're happy to call out bad form, which I appreciate since that's the only way I'll get any better.
Schedule is flexible, going late into the evening at 7:30 and even offering Sunday workouts.
Great programming - it's never easy, and the RX weights are high, but I appreciate that because you progress so fast if you're consistent and take your time scaling. They lean toward weights, which I love, but don't skimp on exhausting WODs
They set a high bar for crossfit gyms, and it'll be hard to replace...
Read moreMy wife and I were in Atlanta for Thanksgiving. We crossfit at Real Fitness Sarasota, and had only been crosfitting for about a month. Like most crossfitters, our addiction mandated that we crossfit while in Atlanta for the holiday. We looked at a few sites, and were drawn to CrossFit Rx because of its convenient schedule and laid back atmoshphere. I called Kelly on our way up from Sarasota, and he graciously invited us to visit, and made us feel very welcome. This box was similar to our box in Sarasota in that you have what you need, a great place to workout, and a staff that is interested in helping you learn and improve. Even though we were transients, Kelly still took the time to coach us and make sure we were using proper form and technique. We did not feel like outsiders at all. I would recommend CrossffitRX Atlanta to anyone who is interested, and we hope to return on our next trip to Atlanta. Thanks Kelly. One more thing, the Box is next to a restaurant, and during the WOD, the smell of cookies...
