Just discovered this place. Omg. And it's at the end or beginning (whatev) of an ebike trail straight from home. I'm using their adouille sausage and tasso ham, which has changed my life, in a shrimp and grits recipe, which has also changed my life. Google 'Sanctuary Jasmine Porch shrimp and grits' for the recipe. Unfrigging real. Just an absolute freak dish...so long as you can get the key ingredients. Think Bayou meets carolina low country. Enter the spotted trotter. And then here is my own creation: imagine eggs Benedict the day after you made all that tasso gravy, But tasso ham and sliced andouille instead of Canadian bacon (nttawwt) and tasso gravy instead of hollandaise (has anyone ever had good hollandaise?), and buttermilk bisquits instead of stuffy English muffins, and juicy eggs when cooked in bacon drippings are poached too, right? Poach is a method, not a medium. Do. You. Get. It?? Point being there is so much more to do with tasso ham and andouille sausage than gumbo (nttawwt) and I've only just started to scratch the itch... Ps, I am going through an orange phase. Don't @ me.

I was excited to find The Spotted Trotter to be my new local happy place for charcuterie, since I haven’t been able to travel to my favorite restaurant in Boston to get my fix of duck prosciutto. Loved the great boutique gem of a spot with housemade sausages, cured meats and a little corner of gourmet goods including tins of seafood like razor clams, scallops and mussels. The haul on my first visit: black cherry pork sausages made fresh in house with port macerated black cherries, garlic, smoky pimenton, Sujuk lamb and beef sumac salami, Genoa salami, and couldn’t resist a tin of razor clams from the market corner in addition to the duck prosciutto I originally went in for. Already went through one pack of prosciutto pre dinner. Can’t wait to try the other items, an then go return for more! As for safety measures, they are allowing only 1 customer in the store at a time, and everyone was masked, so I felt safe. You can also order online for delivery or shipment.

Bought meat earlier today for a special occasion and when we got it out to cook it reeked and had mold on it. We went straight home after purchasing, which is less than 10 minutes away and put it in the refrigerator. Absolutely unacceptable and a health hazard. Edit: Since I apparently can’t respond, I’ll edit to say I absolutely intend to bring it back tomorrow and have no desire to have it replaced. I couldn’t call because you’re closed but wanted to show that this was mere HOURS after purchase as shown by the timestamp on the receipt and the time of the review. I hope that everyone sees your response and realizes the owner of this establishment is the type of person who cares more about appearances than the health and safety of their customers. You should be ashamed.

I've never been into a protein shop before so I was intimidated. I walked in while three customers were inside and got pretty quick attention, I would say less than 45 seconds. I told the guy at the counter that I was just checking it out. He quickly walked me through what they were, how they got there and gave me nice detail on meats and how each are different. By now I was the main customer. I was never rushed, I was talked to like a respected consumer. They educated me on prices, what went into each meat, best ways to cook each meat. I was very satisfied with my in store experience. As for the meat, I purchased two sausages, which were very well priced. I followed the advice to cook, and have to say they are amazing. I purchased the black cherry sausage, and the green sausage and have to say they were amazing. I'm excited this place is near my house and will use them from this point on. I would say they are nice competition to the Farmers Market and much closer. I rarely give 5 starts and this...

While searching in Atlanta for a charcuterie tray to give as a gift, I found reviews for The Spotted Trotter. When contacting the store, I had the privilege of speaking with Allison who patiently shared how the boards were prepared, as well as the opportunity to choose additional items to customize the gift even further. Following the reviews and my discussion with Allison I felt confidant in ordering from The Spotted Trotter . The gift could not have been a bigger success. The board was set up beautifully and comments were: "This is amazing" - "Everything is delicious and we love the diversity of options" - "They did an excellent job - it's beautifully organized" and, "I can't believe our guests almost finished the whole thing". I would not hesitate to order again from The Spotted Trotter. They've proved to us that they strive for excellent customer service and truly give their customers the best quality meats "from the farmer that produced it to your...
