Utopia Foot & Shoulder Massage Grant Park — Attraction in Atlanta

I have had a long week and I needed to be pampered. So, I googled foot spa for some weird reason. The first location that popped up was your location. I was pleased to find a location 2 miles from where I lived. Just to make sure y’all were opened and had availability because it was around 17:00 in the evening , I called. This is when I met co-owner Patrick. He was so kind, patient and very informative. What a bittersweet moment...I found that y’all were opened but booked solid. Which...I expected because it was late in the day and a Saturday. Even though, I was disappointed with this news...I was excited to find out that y’all were opened on Sunday and that y’all had availability. So, I went online to book my appointment when I received a call back from Patrick...where he made me a very happy lady by telling me that someone canceled and that there was an 19:00 appointment available. I feel so special because o thought that that was so thoughtful of him. So, I went back online and booked my first appointment and the last appointment for that day. I booked a 60 minutes shoulder, neck and foot...because I know y’all want to know.

When I arrived. I arrived about 30 minutes early....I walked into this beautiful, clean, welcoming spa that smelled like heaven... Patrick, was at the front desk....he looks just like he sounds, too. Patrick checked my temperature and gave me hand sanitizer. Asked me all the COVID questions. Gosh, He was so kind to me. I keep saying that because service matters to me...it truly does. Anyways, He told me what time I would be pampered and he told me all about the products and services they provided, which I knew about because I had been on there awesome website.

As, I waited for my turn to be pampered...I had the great pleasure of listening to nice, soft, comfy, cozy music while sitting on a comfortable white chair in the waiting area.

I love the decor there as well...it’s simple but, so inviting and very calming, soothing and calming!

When I was escorted to my pampered session I was pleasantly surprised by what I experienced...I don’t even know how to explain what my eyes witnessed...but I will tell you that the lights were low...it was very quiet, I could hear water fountains all over...soft music playing in the background. The sight of the area was unbelievable....I want ruin for y’all because it is something I want y’all to experience for yourselves. I knew it would be nice but honestly I didn’t expect it to be that nice.

I got to the location where I was going to be pampered and loved the set up there as well. The chairs are very comfortable with a pillow on them...which matters to a woman like me that has a big bottom....I need a pillow to be comfortable. I was surprised that they considered someone like me when they chose the chairs. Also, I loved that the recliner chairs were dark not light.

Now, onto just what my body needed...a 60 minutes session of pure pamper time. My amazing masseuse made sure I was very comfortable...told me to relax and...gave me the best shoulder, neck, and foot massage of my life. It was just what my body, mind and soul needed. The sound of the water fountains, the comfort of the pillow and chair that was under me. The dimness of the room...the quietness In the atmosphere ...the warm water that stayed warm the whole time my feet was in the soft water that my feet was soaking in while I got my 30 minutes shoulder massage. The perfect blanket laid across my lap...it made me feel like I was being hugged. She gave me a massage like I was her first client of the day. She knew the pressure points and all. God blessed her with healing hands, y’all. Okay...that’s it. I ain’t telling y’all nothing else because...y’all need to get thine tail over there because your body desires and deserves to be pampered.

Oh, after my massage...I had to use the restroom. That bathroom was extremely clean and smelled amazing...I loved using that restroom.

I’m excited to book my weekly appointments moving forward.

If you love foot massages and are looking for a spa with great service, a convenient location, clean facility, and talented massage therapists then check out Utopia Foot & Shoulder Massage ASAP. My feet were begging me for a massage and with COVID and all I wanted to make sure the place was clean and had good massage therapists so I checked out some reviews and Utopia had the highest on Google and Yelp. The spa is located conveniently right off of 20 highway on Boulevard in Grant Park and has free parking.

They accept walk-ins but I highly recommend you schedule an appointment because this place is pretty popular and stays booked. You can book your appointment online or call, I used the online application but did have some trouble when I booked an appointment for two people, it didn’t schedule our appointment at the same time so I called and the front desk employee quickly changed the appointment time. I’m not sure if it was the app or user error.

I paid $40 for a 60 minute foot and shoulder massage; the business is currently running a special, I also recommend checking out their website for their Utopia Promotions, like on Mondays you can get two 60 minute foot and shoulder massages for $60. They also have monthly memberships, like 2 one hour massages a month for $85.

I’ve been to several foot massage spas in the Atlanta area and I have to say Utopia is the best! Julie the owner, is a gem! She is super friendly and was so sweet to my niece and me when we checked in for our appointment. She really has thought of everything with this spa and you can tell she is focused on the customer experience.

My massage was very good, my therapist used the right amount of pressure and I was very surprised by the length of the shoulder massage, it was a quality massage and had to be at least 20 -30 minutes. This was my niece’s first massage and she did share the therapist pressure was too strong for her and he didn’t’ ask her if it was okay. I did advise her next time to communicate this to the therapist. My foot massage was good but not as great as the shoulder massage, I’m not sure if the therapist used all of her energy on my shoulder and neck, LOL but it almost appeared like she was distracted. Her and the other therapist were having a conversation, and whispering but I could still here them and it was a little disturbing. The hot stones and hot oil definitely made up for it and the stretch at the end so the overall experience I would rate as a 4.75 and since we can’t give a .75 rating I’m rounding up to 5 stars.

I definitely plan on visiting again…very soon!

Tips:

Be mindful of your voice volume and put your phone on silent

Have cash to tip you massage therapist ($12 -$15 is customary)

I recommend wearing a tank top, it makes it easier for your massage therapist to perform your shoulder massage

Arrive 10 minutes prior to your first appointment and 5 -10 minutes prior to other...

Massage was lovely. However, I’m quite disappointed with the overall experience. I arrived to my appointment with a gift card, fully expecting to receive the service and value on said card.

I handed the card to reception as I stated I wasn’t sure how much to GC was for, as the amount was not stated on it. She said it was fine, she could see it on her end. She proceeded to asked me to select 2 out of the 3 following services- shoulder, back massage or foot soak during my hour massage.

I remember thinking how grateful and pleasantly surprised I was for receiving a full hour massage as a gift from a friend. I selected a shoulder and foot soak with Charcoal Lavender soak which I agreed to pay an extra $5 for.

I happily followed receptionist inside to a treatment room. Again, massage was lovely. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as quiet as I expected. While lovely and relaxing for the most part various banging sounds interrupted the peace here and there. I can only imagine someone was cleaning or emptying bins out. Unexpected but not the end of the world.

As I approached the desk expecting to pay $25 to cover tip and foot bath salts. I was told my $60. I reminded her that I had handed her my GC. She adjusted the price to include the GC, looked up from behind the desk and informed me that the remaining balance was $42 dollars including the $20 tip. She said there was a remaining balance of $22 to cover the massage.

Confused and trying to understand this extra amount that I was not prepared to be charged with I ask the obvious question. She then explained that I had received an hour service, my gift card was for 30 mins. WHAT!?! I asked for the service on the gift card!

So, I (me) should have asked how much the gift card was for and then ensure that I was ONLY being charged for ONLY that service. Yes, she said. Make sure you CLARIFY folks or you WILL be uncharged without your consent....
