Borgata definitely has one of the best poker rooms in Atlantic City! I wish I was able to play here longer, but it was definitely a fun vibe, as the dealers and the players cultivated an environment that welcomes newbies and regulars! I played on a weekday afternoon, and it was primarily NLH games running (I played 1/3 here), and I did not have to wait long for a seat. The poker room has many tables and is very spacious as well.
I do have to knock off a star because when converting your cash into chips, for some reason I was only allowed to exchange money into chips if it was a full stack (i.e, I wanted to buy in for $450 and pocket the $50, but I can only exchange to a $100 stack in reds or $500 in in greens for a complete stack), and when cashing out, you have to go to the main cashier across the casino to cash out. Both really didn't bother me, but those are the differences I noticed that might inconvenience some players.
It was an incredibly fun session, and I definitely appreciate the heavier chips they use here. Definitely recommend for all poker players and will...
Read moreThis used to be the best place to play poker in East coast. But not any more. They have changed a lot of rules/attitude in recent times( because of pandemic) 1)walking from tables - you don’t get enough time to get food/coffee and return back. (Used to be 90 minutes before). They pick you up. 2) when you check in, there is no place to wait. So you have to be somewhere else like in your hotel room. And when you get a message for your seat, you just get 5 minutes to get to your seat otherwise they give away the seat to someone else. 3) The major problem I see is in the attitude of the staff. The staff don’t apply the above rule 1 and 2 equally to everyone and show favoritism to certain players. These players behave like table bosses and the staff let them do it.
As a player, I don’t feel welcome anymore. If there is another casino which offers my game, I will be the first...
Read moreLong time regular here, high on the VIP Tier. One thing about this room that is beginning to really effect my decision in coming here is the overall competency and attitude of the dealers. They refuse to enforce what should be obvious rules like making the proper player show both cards at showdown, show one show all, etc etc. A lot of them have just an overall horrible attitude, and they’ll basically root against you and try to make it harder for you to win if they don’t like you for whatever reason. This is coming from a player that wins A LOT of small pots and typically tips any pot over $25. I won’t be doing that anymore. Avoid the raging dealers. You probably just need a good night out is my guess, but you’re bad at your job and I think you’re clowns. I won’t be coming here nearly as much since the reopening of Harrahs this week....
