I just left the Harvest Thrift Store in Auburn, Al. and last week my daughter got a purse for me thinking that it was a real Vera Lane purse. I went to return it back today I understand on their receipt and their policy says no refunds or returns but they sold a 16-year-old a purse that they had hanging up over the counter where they put all there valuable merchandise like thier expensive items. Before I talk to the manager I talked to a young lady that was on the floor I then saw her go and discussed it with another lady that was in the back. I went to talk to the manager she was a great help. She listen to what had happened. She went and talked to the lady in the back. She then came back. To informed me that she said the price is the price and that they knew that the purse wasn't a real Vera Lane Purse and that's the price they put on New Pocketbook. And basically that it is what it is. They did not inform my daughter that it wasn't real at the time of purchase. They knew the purse wasn't a real Vero Lane but they put the $100 on the purse because it was brand new. NO They put $100 on it because someone thought it was a real Vera Lane Purse and they sold a fake bag for $100 because someone there thought the bag was real. It was her hard-earned money that she earned just for a summer program to help her with college. and she felt like I could do something real special for my mom because she have done so much for her. My baby girl have medical problems I don't have much money but I told her that if I could not get the money back I will do my best to give it to her. Evidently we do not buy a lot of expensive items because if we did we would have knew that it wasn't a real Vera Lane Purse but we did not know until we did some research. I want to thank the manager for all her help but now I have to figure out how to give my daughter back a $100. The money I work for I try to get the things she need to help her out for her illness but Now my daughter is out of $100 and I have to figure out how to give it back to her and also supply her needs too. Just a 16-year-old child that was trying to buy a gift for her mother. Although this purse is not real I'm going to carry it with pride because of my daughter's heart.❤️ Thank you Harvest Thrift Store for all your help. 2051 E. University Drive...
Read moreTypically I love this store.....but unfortunately I dont think ill ever be back. The staff on the floor and in the back are very very nice and always have been. However the two rude old ladies behind the counter are not a good representation of this business nor the values this business claims to stand for. My wife and I were in the store today and we came across a mini foldable treadmill that she was interested in. We asked a gentleman that worked there if he knew where the power cord was so that we could make sure everything worked. He searched for it and the said he would ask another gentleman in the back. The second gentleman located the cord and everything worked. The told us we were able to negotiate the price since it had been there for so long and had plenty of scratches and surface level problems. One of the old ladies had already said a price she was willing to do but the second gentleman who found the cord told us that he was willing to do a better price so we agreed. He marked the new price, I pulled my vehicle up to the doors so we could load it in, and the two rude old women decided that they didnt want to sell it for what we had already agreed on. They tried chastising the man who was helping us for agreeing to the price (which was perfectly reasonable given the items condition) and said that they wouldnt sell it to us. The fact that these two rude old women are supposed to be in charge and wont honor their employees word is disgraceful to the company and its supposed morals. Especially when you consider that everything in that store is from donations that they get for free. I am truly upset that they not only wouldnt keep their word but that they tried getting upset at their extremely helpful employee. Again I probably wont be back and I would recommend that you dont go either. They have at the very least lost my frequent business...
Read moreI wanted to purchase a piece that was not priced. An associate asked the assistant manager what the price would be. Without really looking at the item the manager replied $10. I asked if she would accept $5 and she stated No, she would accept $10. When I arrived at the counter to pay the manager said to me “What were you pitching a fit about?” She then looked at the item and said she would take $7. Frankly, I would’ve paid $10. Clearly after review of the item she felt that the discount was warranted. I felt very offended by the managers attitude and tone as I was at no time “pitching a fit”. I simply asked a question and I was very nice about it. I don’t think I will be returning to this store until they’ve had a...
