I love this theater!
My friends and I go here very frequently (a minimum of once a month, but usually much more) and we have never been disappointed. This is our group's go-to theater of choice and has been for years.
TL;DR: Cool decorations, great audio/visual quality, and wonderful staff!
Decorations Staff (MOST IMPORTANT part)
Decorations When the newest Jurassic World was playing, they made "dinosaur bones" out of and put them in a tub of dirt for kids to find. It was small but a cute idea. When "Halloween Ends" was playing, the staff each carved their own unique pumpkins and put them on display for people to vote on. When "The Batman" (SPOILERS) was playing, they recreated the scene in which the mayor's head got wrapped in duct tape by setting up a display that looked like the mayor, duct-tape head and all, was sitting right in the lobby.
This kind of decorating is fun and I'm always excited to see what new stuff they come up with. The staff don't have to decorate to the extent they do, and we really appreciate that they do and it's clear they have fun doing it.
Staff
The staff is the best part of this theater. Even in the "Decorations" section of this review, I couldn't help but to praise them. One more time.
The staff are the best part of this theater.
When I went to the Regal theater, I was shocked at how cold and rude the manager was. And the cashier barely even spoke, like she was scared to.
At NCG, the staff are friendly and chat with us, and even sometimes joke with us because we're there so often (we also tend to see late showings and hang out in the lobby a bit to talk about the movie after, so after a while the staff started to remember us).
One time we went, we were waiting in the lobby and the fire alarm went off. Everyone got out and had to wait outside the theater for over half an hour in the cold before the Fire Dept. cleared it and everyone could go back in. The staff handled this very well, calmly ushering people outside and giving the waiting customers updates while communicating with the authorities. They gave everyone a movie pass for the disturbance.
When "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was playing, there was a huge crowd at the theater. Different sections of the crowd were there for different showings. The staff handled this wonderfully as well. They created a line system with ropes and kept the waiting customers updated while handling all the people coming in, all while keeping friendly demeanors despite clearly having an exhausting day.
As I mentioned, my friends and I tend to chat in the lobby after a movie and also tend to see late showings. So, often while the staff are closing for the day, we're there. We usually try to make sure we exit before we've become an obstacle in the closing process, but while we're chatting we can see the workers interacting with each other and they always seem so friendly and kind with each other and that is very nice to see.
Once, we got carried away in our conversation and one of the employees had to ask us to leave. Of course, we didn't mind, we should have left earlier. And he asked us to leave very casually and politely, not making it at all sound like he was annoyed.
The facility is also consistently clean and the refillable popcorn bucket, if you go frequently, is an awesome...
Read moreI went to the movies last night at the Auburn, IN NCG Cinema to watch Inside Out 2 with my family. There were 8 of us in total and 2 of them under 11. We ordered popcorn and drinks at time of getting our tickets. During the movie I decided to go for a refill of my drink and wanted to purchase a bag of candy for my daughter. There were 2 registers open with a line 40 feet long or more. Both registers were ringing up ticket sales. When I asked if I could purchase the candy, I was told that I would need to go to the back of the line and wait if I wanted to purchase any new concessions... even though I already purchased my tickets and was 1 hr into watching my movie. This is ridiculous! The line was the entire length of the lobby, if I would have stood in line, it would have taken me at least 30 min to get up to the counter and I would have missed a big portion of the movie that I already paid for!! How RUDE of this NCG to treat their customers like this!! I asked to talk to the manager and unbeknownst to me, the person that originally told me this was the manager! Seriously!! The manager then replied in a rude sarcastic manner stating, "I guess you should have purchased it to begin with then"! Really!! I feel this is not the way business should be conducted and I feel that someone needs to address this issue; urging their staff to care more about their paying customers. I then witnessed a couple that paid for their tickets online and pre-bought them (which cost extra to do already), but they were told that they needed to get in the back of the line and wait if they wanted to purchase popcorn and concessions too! Seriously...maybe you all need to have a line for ticket sales and a line for concessions! Or 2 lines for ticket sales and a line for concessions. Treat your paying customers with respect and act like they matter and don't treat them like trash! The Auburn NCG cinema used to be so nice and now it's just going downhill...i just don't want it to become another empty building because people don't know how to provide accurate...
Read moreAlways an issue coming here. I used to be.a manger at this location and seeing how downhill it has become is sad. THE STAFF IS SO RUDE. And heads up be cautious if buying gift cards here. I had bought multiple on Black Friday (gifted some and kept some for myself) kept every receipt with them and every single one weâve tried using they tell us there is $0 on it. I show the proof of purchase with receipt and money being pulled out of bank account and they do at least make it right by loading another gift card with the amount on it. But tonight was the 3rd time so far having to deal with it and we still have more gift cards to use, plus had to send out warning texts to those who I gifted them to. Working there before I donât understand how someone can purchase a gift card and the receipt print out with the amount on the card with the same card number, but then when going to use it it will show $0? Iâm just tired of the hassle at this point and expecting my gift cards to not work when going in then having to deal with the hassle of getting someone to fix it before the movie. It doesnât help that the staff treats you terrible it makes you feel unwelcomed your entire visit. When coming out for refills they will look at you and look back at each other smirking and ignore you until you have to literally ask them if you can have a refill then they will walk over to you and actually help. Plus they wear earbuds while working so theyâre too busy listening to their music instead of listening to what flavor slushee you just told them you wanted and they donât fill up the correct flavor. 100% terrible experience every time we go there, Weâre really just going until all our gift cards are used then we plan on never going back. Terrible service. Terrible experience. No one wants that when theyâre trying to have a nice...
