I'm giving this cracker barrel a 3, because while I've had good experiences in the post, my most recent visits twice in the past 6 or so months when I've visited during covid I've been disappointed with the service I've received. I fully understand restaurants are under a lot of pressure, especially as they've been opening back up. However the last 2 times I've ordered, I tried to be safe and use curbside pickup, only to wait 30+ minutes on each visit, and then still have to go inside, and wait longer to receive my order. The first time it happened last fall, my food was ice cold when I went in and waited nearly 20 additional minutes to get my order figured out and remade. During this most recent trip, we decided to give them another shot, but again after nearly 30 minutes of waiting for the food, and calling to check on it, I again had to go inside. This time , my food again was just sitting on a tray by the cashier, who through no real fault of her own, was overwhelmed taking care with customers in the shop area and had no time to try and run out an order, however nobody else seemed to jump in and try and help her. Again my food was mostly cold, the portions seemed to be lacking as the containers seemed less filled than usual, one of my orders included a total of 4 small pieces of broccoli for the side, and the ice cream that came with a dessert was completely melted, and I had to request another. I felt bad for the cashier who was seemingly overwhelmed with customers, but when I called to check on my order while waiting outside, I would've appreciated more if they simply asked if it would've been possible for me to come inside for the order, rather than saying she'd get to it, me wait another 15 minutes and then still have to go in anyway.
Update from 7/30/2023 lowering to 2 stars So once again I attempted to visit this Cracker Barrel and once again was left frustrated and disappointed. After having issues ordering online I called the store later in the evening and placed a pickup order and was told it would be ready in about 25 -30 minutes , which makes it about 30 minutes before closing. So I order, wait and go to pick up my order only to be told after I arrive that they were completely out of the 2 orders of chicken and dumplings that I ordered, they apologized and so I had to review the menu and check with my family for their order. After a few minutes I then attempted to order meatloaf as replacement meals, the manager says it should take about 5 minutes, but another 15-20 minutes pass and it is now past the closing time and one of the servers comes out and says the cook days they now don't have any meatloaf. So after 30+ minutes of waiting in store I would up having to cancel the entire order, get a refund and leave without even an attempt by the manager to apologize for the inconvenience. Read moreRound #2. 3-23-25 Just picked up food for my wife and daughter. Took it home dropped it off and went to Wendy's to get myself something because I still refuse to eat at this location. Get home and my wife showed me her raw well done burger. When I picked up the food I opened up the bag and checked everything just to discover that we had no maple syrup for my daughter's pancakes and there wasn't any Dill ranch that was ordered but yet checked off the receipt as was the maple syrup. I see this location is still having issues. This time the wife says she will no longer eat at cracker barrel in Auburn. She dined in a couple weeks ago and the exact same thing happened she was served a raw "well done" Burger. It looks like it's not going to let me add pictures because I'm editing my past review. If I delete my original review to leave a second one it won't allow me to leave a second one. WELL DONE IS NEVER PINK. Round#1 was back in 2022. Stopped in for carry out. Ordered 3 meatloaf mash potatoes and 1 side meals. They give me 3 meals with meatloaf 2 sides and no mashed potatoes. Asked tor it to be corrected and the rude lady took our meals to the back and returned with mashed potatoes but no gravy. When I questioned why no gravy she smarted off you didn't order gravy so I asked for a refund ahe was nothing but rude kept our food and refused our refund so we paid $20 for a receipt. Spent 40 min on the phone trying to make a complaint to corporate never got a person was just instructed to leave my number to be called back. I just got robbed by this store they have my money and kept the food I guess I will file a small claims law suit and just go hungry for the night thanks for making me rethink what is my favorite place to eat in auburn because I will never return to cracker barrel even with the offer of free food for life. Read moreWe arrived here at 9:20pm, after a dance recital for our granddaughter. While we prefer to get in and out well, before closing time, we went ahead and went in since they were open until 10:00pm. When we walked toward the restaurant section, a young man with curly hair states loudly to the girl running the cash register "I'm just saying, I'm not taking the rotation." We went to the hostess stand where we were now standing and I asked him "Are we too late?" Not because I thought we were too late, but because I wanted him to realize that all of us had heard his statement when we walked in. Once seated, it seems the servers were all discussing who would take the dreaded late guests. After a few more minutes, Jessica came to take care of our table. Let me tell you, she came with a sweet disposition and a smile on her face! She didn't make us feel like a major inconvenience, or like we ruined her night. She kept our drinks filled, and was apologetic about not having certain items. She definitely was a bright spot in a negative experience. We made sure she was compensated for the inconvenience of a late table. I will also add that the manager found our 3yr old grandson's bag of toys at the table, and got them to us before we got to the door, and then, by the time we were getting in our vehicle, he brought 2 more tiny toys that had been left to us....our little grandson was so glad to get them back!
