I stayed here so I could attend a training close by. Upon arrival I was greeted and confirmed in the system in a few minutes. I arrived late in the evening around 8pm and I was hungry so I asked about food recommendations in the area. I was told to try the in house food by sitting in the bar area.
I went up to my room and dropped off my stuff then came back down a few minutes later. The bar area was empty so I sat down and watched some tv waiting for someone to greet me. I sat for 15 minutes with no one coming over. I figured it was due to the fact it was a Sunday night but the hotel staff said they were open late. After 15 minutes I pushed my chair in went back to my room and got my keys then went back down and out the door. Due to this wait I didn't give them a shot all week while I was there. First impressions are everything.
I also wish the person who checked me in informed me of all that the hotel had to offer. I saw a gym and a pool but they didn't go over any of that upon checkin. It would be nice to have an overview of the facility especially if it's your first time there which I stated it was.
The hotel is in close proximity to dozens of choices for food so I didn't mind driving to them.
The room seemed nice but had a couple of issues. My room faced the highway so it was subject to road noise the entire time. I would call and ask when booking if you could get what you want away from the highway. Additionally I could hear my neighbors if they talked loudly or coughed as there is a doorway between rooms. The bathroom had a vent but it didn't operate when the light went on and there wasn't a separate switch so I guess it was broken. I would have complained but it's not an issue for me but the facility as the bathroom fixtures are rusting due to the buildup of moisture during showers. The rack that held the towels, the lights on the sides of the mirror and the hinges of the door were all rusted and pitted. Now it was surface rust but still unappealing especially the towel rack being rusted.
The toiletries were very nice. A selection of soap, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash and what I liked was a small box filled with a toothpick/floss tool, 2 cotton swabs, a small emery board and a few makeup remover pads. I used everything but the pads. They refilled this only once or twice during my visit which was sad as I used this pack more than the soap and shampoo as what they give you is more than enough for 1 person to use in a week.
Another oddity was they had a small kitchenette area with microwave, Keurig and refrigerator, which was appreciated, and some bottled water. The bottled water was marked with a sign that said it was complimentary for Hilton Rewards members only otherwise it was 2 dollars a piece for others. I would just leave it out of the room and offer it upon checkin to those members instead of this. They have a small market in the lobby where items can be purchased so just keep it there.
The parking lot is small and the slots seem smaller than they should be. I recommend backing into your spot or pulling through so you don't have to back out of your spot as it is very tight when full. They did have a long row of Tesla charging stations but I don't think I saw a single one being used the entire time I was there so ICE cars were parking in a spot or two due to the lack of space.
The facility was under some light construction while I was there. There were signs in the elevator that the 2nd floor was inaccessible and you could see some workers coming and going. The elevators were hilariously finished with glued on trim pieces that were falling down or missing. The wood trim in 1 elevator was mitered but not fitted properly from what I could assume was a mistake with measuring so the gaps between the trim was huge. The other elevator the trim was not mitered but ran straight into one another so there were no gaps but looked terrible.
This property needs to execute better especially for being a...
Read moreThis 3 Star hotel gave us 5 star service. We were down on our first vacation in several years and everything was amazingly well done. Obi and Taylor - front desk - were both friendly, kind, communicative and actually listened to us when we had concerns. And Laura, who works in the restaraunt, made sure that everyone got fed, even me, with my insane food allergies.
We did have two issues that I will mention, one of which was swiftly resolved in the most pleasant and gratifying of fashions, the other of which was not the fault of hotel staff.
Our first room did not have hot water. (A problem since resolved.) When we mentioned this to Taylor, she not only called maintanence immediately but she keep us updated on their progress. When it turned out the problem would take several hours to resolve we were upgraded to a much larger suite and given several restaurant vouchers free of charge. That was fantastic. And we are very deeply grateful.
The second issue - beyond the immediate staff's control, but to be considered, was that on the second day of our three day stay, we and most other guests were unable to use the pool/fitness room because a very large party of people hosted a birthday party for about twenty incredibly loud, insanely rude, screaming children and their equaly rude and largely inattentive parents. On that day, noise, food debris, loose articles of wet clothes, and what I hope was chocolate cake were adhering to every single surface; and footballs and pool toys bounced off walls and windows. The parents informed myself and other guests that they had rented the area for themselves for their exclusive use and they were angry with us and with staff because we kept entering the area. AGAIN THIS WAS NOT THE FAULT OF HOTEL STAFF, BUT if you book a room here you might ask if any large groups have rented the recreation areas for the day. That issue was not resolved as staff apparently had no authority to deal with the people involved...but it was only a problem for one day of our stay.
All in all, I would give this hotel and it's staff rave reviews and will note that my husband and I will be using this hotel again when we visit the area and will be recommending it to others with the one caveat about...
Read moreBooked my hotel room in an old fashioned way by actually calling Hilton directly. The representative got all the information right, the confirmation email had all the information right, and the information on the HHonors app was correct. When I arrived at the hotel, there was no record of my reservation, much to my chagrin. The young lady working the front desk when through all the motions to try to figure out the issue. I gave her my confirmation number and found out it was somehow registered under my significant other's name, this was bizarre as everything corresponding to the reservation was in my name. The attendant at the front desk then could not understand my frustrations with her not being able to give me the room I put on my card in my name and insisted on trying to call my significant other for confirmation. Although it would not have been a big deal under any other circumstance, this getaway was supposed to be a surprise. After another few minutes of linguistical jousting with the young lady, we finally agreed that the previous arrangement should be cancelled and to just issue a room to me right here on the spot. The young lady complied. She was not rude on any level, however my frustrations with the whole situation did not allow for us to be overly diplomatic. This alone brought down the overall rating of my stay as my reservation included breakfast and upgraded internet and some other perk I can't remember at the moment, the new arrangement did NOT include those things AND cost me more.
Aside from the aforementioned, the hotel and room is exceptionally clean and comfortable. Quiet. And the majority of the staff is beyond friendly and...
