Our first visit to this restaurant in June 2012 left us highly disappointed. We decided to give it another try in February 2025, only to find that nothing had changed.
Upon arriving at 5:42 PM, we were seated immediately. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy—a red flag for a Friday night.
We started with the Blooming Onion, naturally.
Both of us opted for the 3-Course Combo. My wife ordered Coconut Shrimp, a Baked Potato, a Salad, and for dessert, Chocolate Thunder from Down Under. I chose the Blooming Burger, Aussie Fries, French Onion Soup, and Raspberry Cheesecake.
Then, the waiting began.
After a long delay, my wife asked if our appetizer would arrive before our entrées. The server assured us it would. So, we waited. And waited. And waited some more. Finally, about 30 minutes after ordering, the Blooming Onion arrived—overcooked, slightly burnt, but still edible.
Then, more waiting.
Our entrées arrived before the soup and salad, which we had to ask for separately. It seemed like they had been forgotten. The salad, which my wife had wanted with dressing on the side, arrived fully dressed with no option given. She didn’t even touch it. The French Onion Soup tasted like it came straight from a can—metallic and unappetizing.
Then came the check and to-go boxes—but no desserts. After asking about them, the server went to check, and we waited yet again. Eventually, the desserts arrived. Mine was correct and acceptable, but my wife’s was wrong. More waiting. When hers finally showed up, she barely ate any, as we were beyond ready to leave. We were finally cashed out at 7:12PM.
It’ll likely be another 13 years before we return—either to this location or any Outback Steakhouse. The food was passable at best, but the service...
Read moreOMG, first off I believe Sunday is not the day to visit this Outback. After a two hour tour de wait we finally made it out. The food was over salted, portions seemed small, I mean the waitress offered to bring us another blooming onion after she set the first one down and was like “that’s not the normal onion size”. Kids burger buns were hard, my Philly cheese was small, the cup of au jus was even smaller (have you tried to dip into a thimble size bowl?) Only half the building had people in it and it seemed like the table behind us ordered the whole menu for 4 people and still got their food faster than our table who btw sat down about 30 mins before them. It literally turned into a dining nightmare. No coffee, no prime rib til after 130, which with our arrival at noon might be understandable, but after an hour and a half wait later I guess we could have gotten the prime rib. The only saving grace was the waitress, but even she was frustrated with the back of the house. I have no intention of going back and if by some chance had to go it definitely would not be on a Sunday. Fans plugged in all over the floors for some reason, I’m just frustrated over a place that is normally decent and then you get this experience. If this was a 4.8 place I’d understand an off day, at 4.2 they need to shape up or they aren’t going to be there for a whole lot longer.
Feedback: Change your vendor, talk to your cooks about salting the food. Fix the machines, don’t have off the shelf fans blowing in the corners. Don’t serve something if you don’t have the ingredients to make it. Plate your dishes differently, don’t be afraid to serve food in larger portions. Make sure you staff Sundays just like the rest...
