Where do i start!, Ive been to this restaurant 15 or more times in the 2 years i have lived here. it was amazing the first couple times. I overlooked the floors that your shoes stuck to because all the grease on the floor. and the old building that was not taking care of. But the last 3 times i have gone. I will NEVER go again!
I had the vent above our seating area dripping on my plate.. with no apologies, or anything just move us to a different seat. The cooks were amazing, but they now have guys that dont season the food or cook it near as well. And i do believe when you go to a hibachi grill, with kids especially (i have 3) they have a show. But that stopped, these guys are poor at there job.
The last thing is i requested a cook by calling in to make sure he was working. Sept. 2, 2013 I new was a great cook and had a good show for my children. The lady answered, said please hold i'll find out. comes back and says he is working. We arrive i request the cook by name Benjamin they say have a seat. We wait and then are seated at our table. We order our drinks, which takes 10mins to get it, and then another 10min to fix my drink that was incorrect. They take our order and then the cook comes out and it is not Ben. I ask why they then tell me Ben is no longer working for them. We sit through the bad show. they cook our food and give my wife a regular stake not a filet mignon. we eat. the food is OK not as good as the requested cook.
We leave the table and go to the front to pay, the manager and 4 females, one of which would have been the one answering the phone. I ask who answered the phone and told me Ben worked there still when he didn't, then the female asian girl starts giggling. the manager looks at me and says i dont know. I told him to its poor business to lie to costumers. while the conversation is going on the asian girl is still giggling and smiling. i told him my wife stake was incorrect too. and the man said nothing, at this point im frustrated of course. hand them my credit card and told him. When i was a manager over people and I had an employee laughing while a costumer is complaining, i would have let her go. he just looked at her and shook his head.. she finally stopped laughing and just stood there smiling. I told him this would be the last time I ever come back to there place...
Read moreThis was the WORST Hibachi experience my family has ever had. We made reservations the day before for my daughter's 13th birthday We got there and they wouldn't seat all of us because our whole party wasn't there. (Which I get to a certain extent.) However, the manager (I'm assuming) was SO RUDE. As in zero manners whatsoever. To the point that I've never left a restaurant review in my life, yet here I am. We were waiting on my BIL and niece and nephew. His wife and all other 13 members of our party were there on time. He still refused to seat us even though there was only one other party (of 2) in the entire restaurant. Then had the audacity to tell us that our reservation was for 6:30 and it was 20 minutes after. I reminded him that we had already asked him 3 times to go ahead and seat us because we could certainly order for the few that had not arrived yet due to unforeseen circumstances. He still refused, and then told us that they do things different there and if we weren't ready to order that the chef was going to move on to the other tables and we would just have to wait until he had time for us. One of our waitresses had difficulty understanding English, so when she continually brought us the wrong drinks he became aggravated with her and nearly SHOUTED at my MIL, "What do you want?!" I was so taken aback by his rudeness and just downright lack of people skills. Our food was fairly good, although my husband's steak was 75% fat. Apart from the big flame at the beginning of the cooking, our chef did absolutely nothing. Put on no show whatsoever. They didn't even sing happy birthday to my daughter. Which to be honest, is not a big deal. Again, I wouldn't even be writing this review if it hadn't been for the manager's crass and unnecessary rudeness. My family will never grace these doors again. Which is sad considering they received $200+ of our business tonight. My advice is for them to seek new management/ownership because the waiting staff...
Read moreWe arrived at 6:40 and ordered pretty soon after (by 6:50). Two of our party got hibachi, three of our party got sushi. The people who got hibachi got cold food around 7:30. Our waitress didn't check on our sushi then; rather, she waited another ten minutes to check on the sushi for the half of our party that ordered sushi (we were right by the stand and could see everything she did). She handed the sushi chef a ticket and told us that it was "almost ready," which we knew was a lie. She apologized and then proceeded to avoid us as much as possible for the rest of the visit. Other guests who were seated after us were being served sushi. The manager ended up refilling our drinks, and we asked about our sushi and expressed our dissatisfaction with the visit. The manager explained it was a "printing issue" with the sushi tickets, and that our food would be "right out." The part of our party who had ordered hibachi were already done eating by this point. We waited another 5-10 minutes for two of the three orders of sushi and the manager offered us 15% off of the sushi for our inconvenience, a discount that totaled between $7-$8. The third person, whose sushi was not delivered because it was fried and still cooking, finally just cancelled her order. This was especially disappointing because it was her birthday, and she ended up getting food at a different establishment. For the rest of the night, the waitress avoided us as much as possible and had to be flagged down for every small thing. She would speak to tables around us, but because she knew that we were dissatisfied, she avoided our table as much as she could. The actions of the manager and waitress have ensured we will not visit this location again. Miyako's, which is less than a mile away, gives far better service, food quality, and portion sizes for the same price. We should not have deviated from our tried and...
