Disappointed in part, when arriving the hostess was literally trying to get rid of people and acting like we were an inconvenience. She stated the wait time was an hour, with many tables empty and no line. I figured she was just lazy and wanted to go home so she could go party on a Saturday night, so I decided to give my number. While waiting i observed about five couples walking in and then walking out to leave. Within 20 minutes my table was ready.
When seated, my date and I overheard a waitress telling customers they were out of all desserts and gave them a bill. Later, our server, who was very intrusive on my date, gave us desserts without questions.
About our server, he was very inappropriate. It seemed like he was almost making passes at my fiancés, catering to her, speaking directly to her, ignoring me. At one point, while discussing sushi options, I said I like raw fish and he tried making me look stupid saying you like raw chicken, like he was in competition with me over my future wife at some bar, where he was trying to take her home. Yes, it was very noticeable and awkward. He kept coming back to our table to share private personal information. Not to me but to my fiancé. He kept telling stupid jokes to her. She was unsettled. All I could think was this guy is a poor waiter in customer service? However, her and I enjoyed making fun of him the rest of the night after we left.
As to the food, the appetizers were delicious, calamari and sashimi. My main dish was cold. I got lily or Lucy chicken, can’t remember the name. I ordered season mixed vegetables and they gave me some green beans covered in a waxy film that were cold. My mashed potatoes were literally cold! Her meal was excellent, and it tasted great. She ordered chicken marseille, slaw, and potatoes. Her food was hot. Made me wonder if our server did that purposely. The cheese cake, well we both agreed it was the best we’d ever ate.
In all I spent $101.00 for two people to eat there. It was very unpleasant due to interactions with staff and our server trying to hit on my fiancé. 😔 Here is why I cannot give them a 5 star rating on service. My opinion the Wait Staff needs pay more attention to their tables in the section where the bar is located. It has been my experience that... Each time I have visited I will sit in the first section where the bar is located and It takes a minimum of 7-10 before I am acknowledged and a wait staff will greet and help me. There are times I have to catch a waiter walking by to ask them if they could help me but telling the waiter a customer is sitting and they need you. (My personal opinion... I would think the person walking by that I asked for help since I told them I've been waiting car a wheel that they would give me a glass of water and then tell my waiter) They always forget about the bread! As of late the bread hasn't been hot. Then I'm waiting for them to return so I can place my order. I receive my order quickly because of the staff that brings the food to my table which is great. However if I need something like a sauce, napkins or a refill on my beverage I am waiting for my waiter! When he/she comes back around I tell them what I need. Like I said it's a hit or miss. It's still one of my go to restaurants. I've been coming for 15 years. As long as I am in Augusta Bone Fish will always be one of my favorites!
As of the past several years just before Covid but after Covid and the restaurant opened back up this has been my one constant problem. This happens to me on every visit! Again It's one of my local favorite restaurants 😄😄😄
There seems to be a turnover with Mgmt and the staff. The staff will tell me that the reason why they are late to come back to my table is because they are short handed. That they have to take on more tables. This is my one constant issue.

Let me start off saying I have been coming here often right before the pandemic, and since then, I have decided to revisit this place. Also, this place ALWAYS has been 5 ratings prior to the visit today. It's one of my favorite places to eat. That being said, Started out the meal with bangbang shrimp, and it had a burnt after taste, bang bang shrimp has always been my favorite appetizer but I had to start with the bad taste in my mouth. The bread and the Melot wine were excellent. When the entrées came out, tuna poke bowl, very tasty and signature pasta, wonderful, and once again fish and chips, awful. Limp fries, over cooked cod... I just couldn't finish my plate, and I had just come here after 2 hours of work out at the gym. I did return the appetizer, bangbang shrimp, thinking they would replace them, but they must have thought I didn't know any better because they brought the same ones out again. Please reach out to me so that I can send the picture of fish and chips or fries rather. The management really needs to see the picture that I took.
