Aurora Downtown — Attraction in Aurora Township

I love my city! Attended First Friday Roots Celebration. We are a large suburb 200k residents with more diversity and appreciation for diversity ethnic, religious, socio economic than I have ever experienced in any other suburb/city I have lived in. Taking consideration, I’ve lived in Chicago for… I really enjoyed my time whenever we are there. There’s a lot of great restaurants a couple of theaters even the casino. There’s a pretty cool art scene. A few galleries. There’s this really cool museum. That’s there that documents the history of Aurora that has a lot of rotating exhibits. Also, in the summertime. Very disappointing experience visiting Aurora downtown. There’s honestly not much to see or do — the area felt dull and unwelcoming. What made it worse was the attitude of some people we encountered; it didn’t feel friendly or inclusive at all. As visitors, we felt uncomfortable and out of place instead of being welcomed.

Would not recommend visiting — definitely not the kind of warm, diverse, or vibrant atmosphere...
