We visited this restaurant on 9/16/2020 driving a hour and half. Arrived at the restaurant at 6:30 p.m.. We wanted to do something different for my sister’s birthday. When we arrived they were not very busy. We did sit outside. Waitress that said I said that they would be bringing us some salsa, guacamole with chips. We stated please not hot. The items arrived at our table 1st bite of salsa was extremely hot. Once the waiter did arrive to our table explained that it needed to be replaced and to please don’t let it be hot. We were only given one menu. Before ordering myself I have celiac‘s disease. Specifically asked the waiter multiple times if there was any types of soy in their stir fry. He said no no no. So between the three of us we decided to do the fajita Dinner for two meal deal our choice of meat was chicken, shrimp and steak. We do not eat pork! We also asked what was included. He stated beans, lettuce, rice, guacamole , Salsa, cheese and sour cream. Plus corn tortillas and flour tortillas. We did have drinks also. Took about 35 to 45 minutes before we did get our food. Once our food was brought to the table we had to wait a while to catch the waiter to ask what was all the meats. We had more than three meats. Come to find out we had pork and sausage on the tray also. The vegetables were on the bottom all the meat was piled on top. There was no rice when I asked he said he go get it we never received it. Same goes for the sour cream. We asked for extra napkins because we only had one napkin a person. After 15 minutes proceeded to go inside The waiter was coming out and looked at me and said oh no I forgot. We had brought a birthday cake in which had to be kept in the refrigerator. They lost the attached card. When trying to ask the waiter any types of questions it was very hard for him to understand what we were saying. There was a table right next to us were two young ladies were having dinner. They had went to the restroom. The bus person came and proceeded to start to clean off the table even though the two young ladies had full drinks still sitting there plus to go boxes on the table. We said to the gentleman twice they had not left. He ignored us and cleared their whole table. When we checked out said some thing to the woman at the register about the two young ladies. Her reply was many don’t Understand English. In which explains why the waiter really messed up our order. Not sure what was worse the fact they didn’t get the order that we ordered or all three of us getting sick on the way home. All day the following day. At the time of check out to be told they were understaffed that’s why they were having issues. She also said that they weren’t expecting to be that busyNeedless to say I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. If you want Awesome Mexican I’d come to Rockford Illinois to Mexico Clasico you will not be disappointed. We wasted time gas and money to receive the worst birthday experience.

I used to recommend this place to everyone but just stopped this past Saturday after spending close to 600 out with the family first thing is the lemons I had no idea they charge you for them 2nd their chilaquiles are chips with green or red sauce for that I would just order nachos that is not real chilaquiles 3rd they offer no more salsa on the tables you have to have it freshly made at a cost they used to offer house made salsas but now they charge you for it now this little things might not seem too bad but if I'm going to drop close to 600 there is certain things I expect and paying for lemons and salsa is not one of them to top it off the cooks burned something which cause alot of smoke and we had to avacuate the restaurant due to the fire alarm going off and waiting for the fire department to clear things before going back in by the time we did our food got cold and out drinks got hot you would have thought oh man desserts on the house or 20% Off the bill or something NOPE not even the lemons lol now I will say there food is not bad for the money you will spend i would go to La Flamo De Oro less than 10 mnts away the food taste the same if not a bit better but you'll get better service more respect the management is more level headed and down to earth yes it might not be as big or decorated as such but your overall experience will be so much more enjoyable it was a so so last meal cause I will never go back.

I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR LARGE GROUPS! food for half of our party was cold; they wait until all dishes are ready so some will be hot while others will be served cold. They also charge extra for lemons and tortillas without letting you know until you get your check! I was a guest for a family birthday dinner of 7 guest. We were seated in the heated outdoor patio during a rainy night and the ceiling was dripping on various sections over our table. We made adjustments to our chairs to prevent getting wet. Service by Belen was slow to say the least. We went on a Monday evening and the place was empty. We had to ask the other server to call her for us when we needed refills on our drinks. 1 stars for cold food. Service was extremely slow and water coming from the ceiling is unacceptable. They could have seated us in the dining area. ** EDIT TO RESPONSE FROM RESTAURANT * If Belen was not working that day, why is that the server name on the receipt! I will definitely NOT consider returning and spend money for an establishment that consider tortillas and lemon as an up charge of $2.99 for dishes that should include tortillas.

Don’t let the exterior fool you—this place is full of surprises. From the outside, it may look a bit run-down, but step inside and you’re greeted by a surprisingly warm and inviting atmosphere. There’s a mix of open-air and indoor seating, giving it a relaxed, casual charm. Now, let’s talk food—authentic doesn’t even begin to cover it. Every dish is made fresh and by hand, and the real star of the show is the open kitchen right in the middle of the bar. Watching the chef work just feet away adds a whole new dimension to the dining experience. That said, quality like this comes at a price. The menu is on the pricier side for this type of cuisine, but when you factor in the freshness, craftsmanship, and overall experience, it’s clear you’re paying for more than just a meal—you’re paying for something memorable

Although it was busy the service was fast and our server Obed was absolutely amazing. He was very attentive and would always asked if we needed anything and was very prompt if we did! Definitely going back to eat and would definitely recommend!
