I've visited Yellow Bird Books twice--the first time by myself, the second time today with my many daughters. I spend an unjustifiable amount of time in bookstores and am a big believer in the cultural importance of the brick-and-mortar bookstore and the browsing experience (see Jeff Deutsch's In Praise of Good Bookstores on this point), so please believe me when I report that Yellow Bird Books is an excellent new bookstore. You can look thoroughly through the whole store in 30 minutes, but you will be surprised and pleased almost constantly by the literary quality and quirkiness of the shelves' contents. My daughters also enjoyed their time there this afternoon; the picture-book and children's chapter-book sections were likewise rich and wisely curated.
I plan to visit again many times and hope Yellow Bird Books can thrive in...
