Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in Aurora

Honestly, I’m really disappointed. I’ve tried since Tuesday to get my son’s birthday cake made. I called and was told to order everything online, And wasn’t even offered to be helped over the phone. So I went online to order a customized cake. The system kept telling me the only option for me, was to pick it up that same day. I didn’t need it until Saturday. I didn’t want to pick up an ice cream cake that early as I have nowhere to put it. So I called back the store on Wednesday and was told again it’s 48 hours that I have to have the cake order in advance and because I needed it Saturday just to wait the exact 48 hours and I should be able to order it. So I waited till Thursday, Thursday came around in the system still said pick it up same day. No one at that point decided to help me over the phone or anything so I just prayed and hoped I would be able just to order it today to get it for my son son’s birthday tomorrow.. I have been trying to order it all day online and could not get it to work so I called and the guy told me that they’re printing machine always has issues so there’s no guarantee they could do it. I was really frustrated and he told me to call another location to see if they could do it. I called six other locations and only one other location answered the phone which was chambers, and at least they were honest with me to tell me they could not do it and apologized because they would have taken my order over the phone instead of having me deal with the online portal. So I called Hamden because I was told if I called the guy back in 20 minutes he would definitely try and get the print done so that I can get the cake. I’ve been trying to get for four days. I called back multiple times, I even left a message. I called over 10 times until somebody finally answered the phone., When the gentleman answered the phone, I told him who I was and he immediately says, and I quote “ I am so sorry that it took me so long to answer the phone we have gotten extremely busy and we are still really busy. However, I will not be able to do that for you. This evening is too late I could go ahead and just do a regular cake with some colors for you so you can pick it up tomorrow…”. I am so disappointed with the service I have received the pretty much lies that I was just given, The fact nobody really guided me and I’ve even prepped to get my sons cake for his fourth birthday with plenty of time in advanced and now that it’s tomorrow, I don’t have a cake for him. The reason we do ice cream cake is because he doesn’t like regular cake. And he wanted a hulk cake. The only hulk picture they had is one printed image of his fist. So I just want to say that I am incredibly disappointed in general with Dairy Queen, but particularly this location and the lack of care that they have for people even knowing this was for my son, who is turning four tomorrow. I do not recommend this location as I feel like they are just trying to push you away instead of trying to help you because the third time I would’ve called to get help with the online portal you would think somebody would go. Oh she’s been having issues let’s help her here….. But no, nobody wanted to do that and I believe it’s the same person who answered the phone call every time because he sounded like the same person every single time. I wanted to leave a review because this is the only way I could find to thank the man. Bill the GM there is an amazing guy. When I was homeless and going through a hard time he was so supportive in helping me and honestly saved my life and gave me a reason to want to live again. The man helped me without me even asking. There was a time I had not eaten in days and he made me a chili dog and sat and talked with me and had such a great supporting attitude. I made sure to respect the place as best I could and would try to stay off of the property unless to buy something or maybe sit at one of the tables to just clear my head for what was a really rough time and he took the time to come out and share kind words and never had one complaint and if he asked me for anything such as even just leaving the property for a while so people had a place too sit I kindly abridged because he continued to show his heart. This man deserves what he gets paid by you guys and more. His smile is contagious and makes everyone happy. Please pass the word on to him that he saved a life and am now a year sober because of multiple kind gestures and the love he shows too his customers...

The DQ itself is fine, but the homeless people sitting RIGHT outside the exit door every time we have been there recently are becoming an issue. You cannot sit on their tables bc the homeless people are at them swearing up a storm, smoking cigarettes and joints.. today they were either messed up on drugs or drunk screaming crazy things and swinging crutches around getting close to whacking people coming out the exit door, and that was just the deciding factor for us to leave. We wanted to come here and sit and have some ice cream with our son as a potty training treat. After standing in line and watching the crazies for 5 minutes, just as we got up to the register we decided to leave and are going to drive down to the Southlands DQ.
