This is my first time reviewing any service of any kind. I went to this sauna for the first time with my friend and we enjoyed ourselves with the tubs and different rooms. Once it came time that we wanted to scrub, we were confused as to where we were allowed to because there were MANY signs around the showers and service rooms that said ,”don’t scrub here”. So my friend and I walked over to where some workers were scrubbing costumers and asked them if we could scrub ourselves in an area where there are many shower heads and stools to sit on (the area in which the owner later said was the area we were allowed to scrub). The worker said no, so we went out to the front desk and asked the woman (the owner) if there was a location that we could scrub ourselves. She said that we needed to pay to scrub, unnecessarily rude to us, even chuckling. We were really confused, maybe she misunderstood, but I spoke perfect English, so i don’t know how she would misunderstand it, but we just left because we only went to the sauna to scrub. We ate dinner and when my friend’s mom arrived she asked if it was nice, and we explained that we didn’t get to scrub because, according to all of interactions, they didn’t have an area to do so, so we all went back to clarify it. The same woman was sitting at the front desk and when we asked about if they had a self scrubbing area, she said that they DID have an area for scrubbing and told us that she thought we were asking about getting the workers to scrub us when we only paid $20 to get in, once again in a very downgrading and insulting tone. She tried to push the blame onto us by not admitting to misunderstanding what we were asking. My friend and I are not adults, we are just teenagers and I felt that the owner just brushed off our problems because we were young, but reading the 1-star reviews for this place, I now understand that the owner is rude to many people. ...
Read moreThe most disgusting "sauna" I've ever been to. The water is dirty, the jets are disgusting. The steam room is slimy and wreaks of mold. Dry sauna is barely hot and the Russian Sauna (of which no russian things are allowed) is rotted. There are weird signs everywhere talking about russian things that arent allowed and sexual misconduct. Years ago we stopped coming when the bench in the dry room gave way for a bunch of us and scraped us up and I hit my head pretty hard on the floor. No apologies then and in fact the owner blamed the men sitting on the poorly made bench! Shotty work and a good representation of how this woman runs her bathhouse. Years later, decided to give them a second chance. Now, The owner has hired a man who speaks no english to barge into every room every 5 minutes with a bright LED flashlight and shines it right in your face and yells "OK? OK?" I guess he's looking for Homosexual behavior (at a bathouse? NEVER!). Every 5 minutes like clockwork, you're trying to relax with your eyes closed and BOOM, interruption and cold air. Terrible. They are rude and when we tried to gently explain that the attendant who was opening the doors, letting all the heat out every 5 minutes and shining flashlights in our faces was not really the "spa" experience we paid $20 each bucks for, we were told we could leave. The man said he didn't understand english, but he seemed to understand "you can leave" pretty well. Sheisty! I have never been to a place that didn't understand their clientelle and didn't really care that we came for a relaxing experience and what we got was a prison warden type atmosphere, NOT. CUTE. We will NEVER give this terrible woman our money again. They discriminate against and alienate Gay people and could care less about letting you relax. I'll go to Lake Steam Baths from now on! How do you say...
Read moreUPDATE: the owner returned my call me when she returned from her trip 2 weeks later. She was very nice, apologized and refunded my money. I have changed this from 1 star to 3... The TRUTH is I feel the manager should have been able to fix his mess up without the owner present so I won't give it more than 3 stars for that inconvenience of chasing down my money over 2 weeks time. The facility has some rusty spots, a door in the russian sauna would not close and was not very hot. but the crystal room was badass. The whirl pool was nice and I enjoyed the steam room... All in all for $19 it ain't bad at all and I would recommend if you just need to chill I will change this review once I get my money back... For the general admission price of $19 it wasn't too bad but the fact that I was over charged for $89 to my card is not cool... I noticed the faulty charge 3 or 4 days later... I called in and the manager said there was nothing he could do with the owner in Korea until the end of the month. He said he was unable to go back that far in the system and verify I didn't have any additional services, which I didn't. So now I have to wait 2 weeks to get my money back. Come on owner, your manager should be able to fix your business's mess ups while you are out of town... The place could definitely use some work cosmetically but for $19 I was happy cause I hurt my hand and needed to give it some TLC and enjoyed the sauna, steam room, crystal room, and whirlpool. However being overcharged by 4 times the price and then told by the manager in charge that there was nothing he could do without the owner is unacceptable. Fix it, that's my money you...
