I am so thrilled I came across this restaurant! I lived in Korea for three years and have been feeling very nostalgic for certain foods. As much as I love other types of Korean foods, I had been dying for jjajangmyeon and tangsuyuk. As I was browsing online, I saw Yong Gung's menu and knew I had to try it. The woman running the front end of the restaurant was very friendly and helpful as soon as I walked in. I told her I wanted to order two dishes, but asked how big they were since I was dining alone. She told me both were large, but enough to take out. The tangsuyuk in particular, she brought the sauce on the side so it wouldn't get soggy when I took the rest home. The jjajangmyeon noodles were perfectly chewy and the sauce was rich and savory. The tangsuyuk was very crispy and the sauce was delicious! I can't wait to come back here...
Read moreI am writing this review in the parking lot... 4 minutes ago, I ordered Jjam Bbong Rice. And rice was so uncooked. I mean, rice was crunchy. The waiter brought a new bowl, and it was crunchy as well. The Jjam Bbong was full of cabbages with 2 shrimps and 2 mussels. It was not Jjam Bbong. It was cabbage soup. I did not even start eating, I did not want to ruin my appetite. Knowing well that I did not even start eating, they gladly took money. No apology. I stood up, paid and got out in less than 3 minutes without touching the food. And yet the owner did not notice something is wrong? Ridiculous. I gave $3 tip for the waiter because it was not his fault. I ate at so many different Korean-Chinese places, and Yong Gung is by far worst place ever. I am sorry that there is no negative stars.... Totally wasted $16 here. I will...
Read moreIt wasn't amazing before; on good days the food was pretty tasty on bad days it was bland and salty. But now it's as if all days are bad days, no matter what day of the week you order, no matter what time you order. The noodles are undercooked and taste strongly of raw flour, the jjamppong (spicy seafood noodles) is bland and has no depth to the soup, the jjajang (black bean noodles) is salty and has this weird off taste that I can't describe (almost as if it's gone sour?), and the sweet and sour pork is terribly salty. The pork itself is fine, but the sauce is so salty you can't eat it. Even just the veggies in the sauce are so salty. This place is not cheap either so if you're going to spend the money, you should go somewhere else. What a shame there is no good Korean Chinese food restaurant close by...
