We absolutely love it at Austin Pickle Ranch! We joined their indoor facility on Braker during their pre-opening period and had a chance to watch them build it out. The owner and staff are amazing and have worked really hard to make it a fun and accessible place for everyone to play. You can be a member if you play a lot, but you can also just pay as you play. We've checked out and played at different indoor courts, and APR's are definitely the best we've played on so far. Most places have courts painted right on top of bare concrete, but APR has a very thin underlayment that makes the courts feel more similar to tennis courts. They're also less rough on your body. Little factoid, these courts are the first ones designed by Ben and Collin Johns's new court consulting company. They actually practice there sometimes too which can be fun to watch. Every court has its own lounge area that feels like you've got your own VIP section. The ceilings are super high, and there are sound-dampened walls and ceilings. I love all their little touches like having foam rollers, yoga mats, and ankle stretchers for people to use pre/post games. They even have shoe scrubbers to scrub off the bottoms of your shoes to minimize tracking dirt onto the courts. This is the first facility that I've played at that feels like it was designed by pickleball players for pickleball players. The owner is very hands-on, and we see him there all the time getting feedback from members and looking for ways to improve if needed.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Dinks Out of Five If you're looking for the perfect indoor pickleball gym in Austin, Austin Pickle Ranch is it. The courts are top-notch, the AC is blessedly cold, and the vibes? Unmatched. I play in Open Play Level 3, which is that magical mix of good competition and great laughs. I'm a 3.5+. SO whether you’re a strategic shot-maker or just here to run around with style (guilty), you’ll find your people. Using their app is easy to book open plays, coaching sessions or a court for some competitive play. Now let’s talk about the coaching squad. These folks are like the Avengers of Pickleball (or the ABC Coaches): Austin: Smooth, smart, and sneakily savage with the tips that will totally level up your game. Brandon: Brings the energy of a hype man and the knowledge of a pickleball wizard. 10/10 would take his advice again (and again). Camden: Moves like he’s part of the Matrix and teaches like your favorite PE coach—but cooler. Whether you're new to the game or plotting your dinking domination, this place has it all: amazing staff (hi Michelle, Matilda, Jeff, Eli, Erin! and more), great competition, and an always-welcoming community. Bonus points for not having to worry about the weather. Because nothing ruins a third-shot drop like the Texas humidty. Highly recommend. Just don’t take my court spot!

Still the most popular spot in town. I just played with Pursuit Pickleball today at Open Play. If you don't know him go watch his podcast with Justin on YouTube. Open Play is fun, great way to work on your game and sweat. Again they can afford a bit more AC, cause they are taking in all the $. A lot more affordable than other places in town. I recommend going during off peak hours, could turn down the air a bit more but I get it it's hot 🥵 in Texas, water fountain available onsite. Waiver is easy to sign online and super friendly staff that support the love of the game and growing the community of pickleball fans versus other places that feels more about the membership and trying to upsell you. Excited to see future updates including a beer garden and I will definitely bring friends back for another round.

As a certified Professional Pickleball Registry Coach/Instructor, I first would like to state that 5 Stars is much too puny for the brand new (and still magically and majestically growing) Austin Pickle Ranch venue at Braker Lane in North Austin.

Previously, I had been the first Head PB Coach/Instructor in the Teravista Community (3500+ homes) with 5 outdoor courts in Round Rock, Texas. I was there for just over 2 years and was able to attract 168 players to join our Teravista Pickleball Facebook page.

However, once the Austin Pickle Ranch opened on Braker Lane in North Austin, my first visit there was all I needed to leave as the Teravista PB Coach/Instructor to eagerly begin a new stage in my own Pickleball journey exclusively at Braker Lane.

Now as a Founding Member there who plays virtually 7 days a week there, this has easily become my “Pickleball Paradise” and absolutely deserves 10+ Stars‼️

Braker is a brand new indoor, air-conditioned 16 court venue which will additionally feature an indoor Sports Bar coming soon, and an outdoor Beer Garden scheduled for opening in time for October Fest.

Visit their website and the pictures will dramatically show off PB luxury at it’s best, cushioned sofas and tables around all the courts and barriers between each court.

Finally, I’m absolutely in love with the atmosphere at Austin Pickle Ranch. The community here is so vibrant and the players’ enthusiasm is infectious. I'm really excited to be part of this fantastic environment and to help grow the pickleball community in Austin. The sense of camaraderie and shared passion for the sport makes every day at the ranch an...
