Let's be real people: Whenever I go into a noodle house, and I see a ton of Asians, I know I came to a good place. Pho Saigon is seriously THE BEST PHO I have ever had. It is literally the comparison for all other pho places. What's great about it is even though their pho is THE BOMB, and you should definitely get it, a lot of their other dishes are really good too! There's seriously nothing to complain about...
THE PHO - Boy, I have never had better broth in my life. It's so flavorful and there's tons of it!! Honestly, if they sold it as a beverage, I would order it if I could and drink it all up. It's just so tasty and I seriously get a pho facial every time I order it since I can't stop smelling how delicious it is. It's not horribly salty like other pho places, although I do wish they didn't use MSG. Also, the noodles are really good and so is the meat. I usually get round eye steak with flank. I've also had it with tendon, but I'm just not a fan and the tendon kinda just creeps me out. Also, for sizes, when they say 'small,' what they really mean is, "this is way too big for even the smallest person and you will have tons of pho goodness to take home" - which I never mind. But seriously, the small is huge, and the medium, is huger!!
Service - What I really appreciate about Pho Saigon is they don't skimp on the service. I've always been attended to promptly and the waiters/waitresses are really attentive at making sure you're content during your meal without being horribly overbearing. I've never had to wait for a table, and waters are always promptly brought out. Also, I'm legit obsessed with basil, and sometimes my pho ends up looking like a basil tree, but the waiters always bring me more basil in a flash whenever I ask.
Price - Their food is such a good deal and I so appreciate it. For two bowls of pho, an appetizer, and drinks, I usually end up paying only $19, which I think is a steal. But seriously, sometimes I feel like I'm stealing cause it's so cheap. This is probably the reason why pho is my dinner at least once a week.
Their other dishes are really good too. I'm a huge fan of their fresh spring rolls with either tofu or shrimp and I really appreciate that they don't skimp on the veggies, whereas at other places I feel like I'm just eating rice paper. Also, my friend once recommended their lemongrass beef vermicelli to me, and I finally, tried it recently, and it is delicious!! It was so flavorful and the beef was so tender, and I could have kept eating it forever.
All in all, Pho Saigon is the bomb!! All you people need to go and be ready for the...
Read moreOn a Sunday my family and friends decided to have Vietnamese food. We attended this restaurant, to start with they got a few of our orders wrong, after everyone had gotten their plates, they kept bringing more but we denied ordering those dishes so they took them back. When it was time to make a payment we all had to line up and verified our individuals orders. After we doubled checked everything was paid we let an older Asian lady know, which seems to be the owner, that we had payed everything we ordered. The lady started being rude to us and accusing us that we didn’t wanted to pay. She kept insisting that we didn’t payed everything and we owed her money. It was a very uncomfortable situation because everyone was staring at us and the lady kept accusing us that we didn’t wanted to pay. Finally one of our friends emphasized that he payed with cash his order. The lady then checked and confirmed that he payed with cash the dishes she kept insisting we didn’t wanted to payed. The lady after realize that she was wrong didn’t even apologize, she just laughed and she even had the audacity to asked if we all left her a tip.
That lady was extremely rude and made us waste our time, even after seeing her error she didn’t even bother to apologize. Please never go to this restaurant, there’s a high chance you’ll be...
Read moreSo we drove all the way from San Antonio about 90 miles for some better Asian food in Austin. We saw pho Saigon oh ok let’s go in .. my brother ordered a pho, and I intended for a beef stew with egg noodles. In the menu they had a whole section for pho of different types. Then another separate section started with beef stew so I thought I ordered beef stew with egg noodles and meatballs. And it came out I had ordered an egg noodle in pho broth!!!! So I was confused I talked to the waitress very nicely saying I was confused of the menu and that I would really love to have a beef stew and that’d be great if I can get it changed. ( to me pho broth and egg noodles don’t go together at all) . And so she went talk to the lady owner I saw at the register and by the expression pretty much it said I would just have to deal with it what I ordered. So that was !! the waitress got back to me that they wouldn’t be able to do anything for me. Ok.. so I again nicely asked if I could just get a bit of the pho noodles to go with my PHO 🍜 broth that I had to finish and they charged me for the side noodles. I left out the egg noodles. The ambiance felt forceful and I feel like they dont care. And they dont care! Slogan: the PHOK if...
