La Familia Market — Attraction in Austin

I used to love this place and shop there 2-3 times a week. Recently I was charged twice for the same transaction. I noticed the following day and brought it to the attention of the same employee that had processed that transaction. He remembered the transaction and I was able to show him where the amount came out of my bank twice. His boss, Mike, told him to tell me to come back the following morning. I told him I could not because of work. He said he would talk to his boss and to check back with him when I could. I came back two more times with the same result. On the 3rd visit, he gave me his boss's number. I called today and he made what should have been a simple void of an errant charge a difficult and frustrating process. He also implied that I may be attempting to defraud his business. This infuriated me. Eventually, after calling his IT guy and reviewing security footage, he could see that I only made the one purchase. He finally refunded my money. It was a small amount and frankly not worth the 5 visits it took to resolve. If not for principle I would have just let it go. The original employee should have had the authority to void the charge when presented with the evidence of the mistake in the first place. I should not have been made to jump through hoops to get a refund and I certainly should not have been viewed as a fraudster for asking them to make it right. I have always thought the employees at this store are courteous and friendly but I will no longer be giving this store any business nor will I recommend them to any of my friends as long as Mike...

This is the coolest Mexican market I have accidentally stumbled across there. They have a gas station, so I stopped conveniently to pump some gas and decided to check out the store.

Not only do they have a great selection of meats, they also have a taqueria inside. If you are craving Mexican snacks you can probably find them here!

As someone who lived in Mexico for many years, it was so nostalgic to find many of the snacks that I crave and cannot find easily. I was able to get Joya Sodas which are typically only sold in Northern Mexico. Tacos are made to order but very well made and seasoned.
