This park is a tiny place in the middle of the neighborhood but worth the find! The textures are fun to look at and feel, and little strange objects are tucked away to look at and find. There’s a little hidden area behind it with some benches, and an abandoned substation to peer into next to it. Just park in the street and go take a look!

What a FUN public park. The park itself is smaller than most, but what's within is fascinating. Built around a 1930 electrical substation is a 2008 grotto wall by local artist Berthold Haas (with help from the community) filled with treasures. It made for a fun stop on my morning run while staying in an Airbnb at nearby Hyde Park.

Small and worth every inch of the space! This is one of Austin's "do not miss" locations, great for an afternoon picnic and absolutely stunning at sunset. The sculptures and art put together by Berthold Haas and the community are like none you'll find anywhere else. Make it a slow walk, a meander; it's worth it!

I used to love going to Sparky with my daughter and looking at all the hidden objects (and sometimes leaving treasures of our own) and heartfelt notes too and from strangers but the last couple years just about every time we go the whole place is completely empty of treasures. It’s such a drastic contrast to how it used to be that it can only be the result of deliberate action. I doubt city Parks & Rec would be doing it and I just don’t know what would motivate someone to do this but I wish they would stop. This was a fun communal...

I really loved taking my dogs here on a regular basis. Pretty much every other dog owner I met there was friendly and had a well behaved dog or two. Truly going to miss that morning journey but if you're in that neighborhood I strongly recommend going. In addition there is a way to host a party or gathering there. I've seen everything from kids learning/enjoying a cooking experience to pre-wedding celebrations. An extremely great usage of a state maintained...

Went here Saturday, 11/07/15, and I give this a 5/5 for several reasons:

(1) It's free (2) Not many people know about it, so you'll never have to worry about it being crowded (3) It's outdoorsy yet artsy

Best seen during daylight hours, but if you want to go at night, you can use your phone flashlight to get a pretty good look. Great spot to chill with people or to throw a frisbee / football /...
