Scheduled a pickup for today at 10:30am. At the last minute (10-15 min before the appt), they call and say they are double booked and can’t come. I explain that I have to have the items removed today. The employee agreed to come and said someone was on the way. 30-40 minutes later, they call and cancel. Wasted my time and put me in a bind. I was adamant that it had to be today (leased office space) and they said no. It has to be tomorrow so I said I’d hire someone else, and I did. I told them 1800GOTJUNK can do it today. I left a personal review of my experience with them and their response was to write a very negative review not on my personal page, but on my employers google page - a local homeless charity. Are you attempting to retaliate by attacking the charity? Seems petty. Unreliable and vindictive.
Update to respond to their questions:
Although you may assist certain charities, you did mine no favors today. We have assisted hundreds of families secure stable housing. You have gone to great lengths to disparage me and my charity while accepting no responsibility for simple poor customer service and bad business practices.
Mistruths: You take issue that I called the day before the appointment. You stated I waited until "night" it was early afternoon, done online and I followed up with a phone call to confirm with your employee. If Scheduling the day before during business hours is such a major concern, why did you allow it and confirm it?
You cancelled 10-15 minutes before the 10:30am appt. I was at the old office waiting. It had to be today because we are at the end of lease and I do not want to lose our security deposit due to the junk, etc. Your employee called to cancel and I said it was critical to do it today and if your company couldn't do it, I'd have to find another company to complete the task. Full of excuses - Solution oriented? one solution, tomorrow. A solution that I repeatedly told you was not possible. No other solution offered. Your employee told me you were double booked. Then he called back and a employee that was at work and was on his way. After 30-40 minutes waiting on them, you're staff called and said he wasn't coming. Thats cancel #2. Your staff kept insisting and calling me saying they can take care of it tomorrow, over and over. Why would I expect you to honor that appt? Tomorrow is a holiday. I'd have to pay doubletime to have a staff come into work and interrupt their time off. Yet you and your staff kept insisting. Why? Yes, I was frustrated that you put me in a bind and kept calling back and repeating tomorrow over and over again. I was not unprofessional. I didnt yell, cuss, or call anyone names. I expressed my disappointment and frustration over and over again until you finally stopped calling offering tomorrow. I repeated over and over that it had to be today! No one at your company would listen! Then you called saying you work with charities. We are a charity!! but that does not excuse poor business actions. You said it was because a truck was too hot. (83 degrees at the time of appt). So which is it? Double booked? No truck? ( i wonder what that employee was driving when they cancelled the 2nd time) The personal review I wrote was an honest review. Yes, I operate a charity, doesn't mean I want any business (small or large) to treat us in such a manner as your company did. So bash me, bash my nonprofit. It just proves that rather than take the criticism, you will attack and retaliate against the people/agencies you advertise to "help". if they express an unfavorable view. 1-800-GOT-JUNK was there by noon and cleared out the "massive removal" in 30 minutes. (2 guys). I applaud your mission, but in this instance you failed to deliver...
Read moreI think the website needs to be more explicit about what the scheduling accomplishes. You click on "Free estimate" and go into a scheduling flow where you upload photos, but I wasn't sure if I was going to receive an estimate via email before the appointment date or if something else happens. I only received an email that says "Service request submitted" which doesn't really explain what's going on. If someone is trying to plan ahead and get an estimate before a move-out date, the process is pretty confusing. Maybe an additional page or email explaining the next steps would be appropriate....
Read moreWords are inadequate for the praises we have for these guys. We lost both our parents at the end of last year and they had lived in their home for 60 years. Jeremy, Paul and the crew, were FANTASTIC. Family came in and took some things, but these guys completely emptied the home, 3 days of work, donated what was appropriate, and even swept the floors when they finished. They were the Merry Men - with no complaints, and absolute attention to detail of what to leave for various family members etc. We have already given their contact details to friends. As executor, I cannot imagine any other...
