I had the joy to just buy my fourth piece of art from Julie this week!
I first met Julie and her work on the West Tour several years ago. At that time, she had completed a series of work featuring blue, black and white impressionist pieces. I was immediately drawn to “Blue Bird on a Wire.” It didn’t take much time until it was mine and it hung on my bedroom wall. I could see it as I lay in bed, it was placed to the right of the TV. The left side was lonely so I went back and got “True Blue,” another of the originals from the series. I look at these pieces before I go to sleep and when I wake up and they bring me such joy.
Fast forward and I needed a large piece to go over the living room couch. I looked at Julie’s website and found, “Get it Girl.” The colors matched the couch, the paint in a beautiful way. The amazing thing about this piece is it seems to change with the amount of light in the room. Sometimes the pinks burst with color, at other times they are very subdued. On rainy days, it seems to match the clouds outside. Julie’s ability to work with colors and layers of paint is the key to this transformation.
Back to my bedroom. My life has taken some challenging changes and I needed to rearrange that space to bring me comfort. Julie’s two art brings me such pleasure and I had hoped that I could find something like them. I know all of the pieces from that series were sold but I found a great compliment, “Casino Royale.” The colors work so well together; the twins have met their new sibling!
I appreciate the time she spends with me as a patron of her work. I admire the skill she has and the joy her art brings to my life....

We buy original, and often local, art because we love being surrounded by unique pieces! We feel like original art allows us to make our home truly ours.
Supporting someone like Julie also feels personal. We love how she is championing not only her work but the work of other female artists in Austin.
We own two of Julie's pieces:
Low Key Rock Star - We were drawn to the colors and playful nature of the piece, and loved the scale and the bright pink low key rockstar. Our 76 year old neighbor dog/house sits for us and shared that every time she looks at it she notices something new.
Lord of the Flies - We adored the small graphic fly at the bottom of the piece. Along with the brilliant Greens and geometric pattern, which was very different than anything we owned, that fly was too cool not to make ours. When Julie shared how the fly came to be it made if even better. The piece is covered in resin and she had it laying out drying. The next morning when she came in there was a fruit fly stuck in the resin. She had a show and didn’t quite know what to do…then she had nothing short of a stroke of genius and painted the small fly to cover the imperfection. Obviously, the...
