Kern County Fair And Event Center — Attraction in Bakersfield

The Kern County Fairgrounds is a place where all different events are held. The grounds are well kept up. Except for Ants a time I went.. Horse events, rodeo, trucks, swap meet 3x's a week. Kern County Fair with all variety displays of hard work and creations... Agricultural, Crafts, Farm Animals F.F.A. & 4 H. , Rodeo ,Concerts of variety musical talents local, oldies, others also every ear enjoys. Security is Enforcement by Sheriffs Dept. And you can't beat that. The Brave Officers let you know they are there for the Safety and Beneficial Enjoyment the Fair goers and Vendors paid to enter this Public entertainment... Respect is earned for Kern County its self. Some have to make it a test for why? IDK. Perhaps they aren't located where they should be... There is no room or place here for gang members, they aren't welcome here, or at The Great Kern County Fair Fairgrounds and Events esp. Kern County Dog Show. That was my favorite and only time I went. Dogs are great , can't beat them in any way,shape or form. Once a year pre-,entered dogs come with human companions to compete. Thousands.. Entered if yours isn't, please leave them home. For safety. .... Gun& knife shows. Antiques of all kinds come here. Walking antiques, standing, just sit there, and working too. So if you have an antique to sell or show, or whether you are too or aren't you are welcome. Home Shows all the things to beautify, upgrade, comfort, style your palace or summer home, mother in laws get away are here. Boat & R.V.Shows get your dollars traded here.(work$4play). Any event Awesome old Cars Proudly come park and show off here,cruise Chester, the Lake. Beautiful Autos,Trucks of many types. This is only some Attractions to the Kern County Fairgrounds... Kern County California....

Fair was Awesome had a amazing time with my Daughter Niece Nephew and Brother In Law. Only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because of Staff at the gate and BPD we were leaving and stoped off to get a few last minute items before we left as we left and searching the parking lot for our Vehicle for 20 mins we realized that we went out the wrong gate we were parked on the Belle Terrece side and went out the Union and Ming side Gate. Simple Mistake and we weren't the only ones who did so as these parking lots are not marked nor are the gates. We argued along with Several others at the gate because they would not let us back in to go to the right gate saying we trying to get in for free and if they let us back in they have to let everyone back in. We first of all were not trying to get in for free we had 3 bags of stuff we bought and a stamp from seeing the Plain White T's concert on our hands I argued with staff that it's obvious that we were already inside. They told us they don't care we have to walk around to the Belle Terrece parking lot which my Brother In Law and a few others Did. But after the fair had closed they let a younger couple back in to go to the right gate again I argued with staff that they couldn't let us do so with 3 kids but could let them back in. Better staff needs to be hired and the rules need to be changed if it's obvious you been inside you should be let back in to go to the right gate also Mark your parking Lots and gates so people know what gates there at as they all look the same so this eliminate the same problems...

Pretty pricey event. It's great if u just looking for a carnival and have money. The map is not very helpful and people working there can't answer questions. I was disappointed in traditional fair event. We entered one event bldg, there was only one lady in the whole bldg, she snapped at my special needs child, "don't touch anything!!" He was being very good, she acted like she was bothered my anyone even entering the bldg. We went to the duck races...twice. my son wanted to race a duck. He didn't get picked at first show. Sign said anyone standing in front of seats won't get picked. He followed rules perfectly!!! All kids, breaking rules by standing in front of us got picked. Great job at teaching lessons to our kids. Come on guys, really. That's the example we set for our kids. Eyewitness news had a booth. U spin wheel to get prize. My son loves the color red and the had a red water bottle he wanted so bad. He spun, got a poster. Ok so I spun, got another poster. Could not trade both for one water bottle. My son was disappointed, but handled it well. I was disgusted with eyewitness news booth. We tried to get info on scouts, 4-H and FFA. All were represented but no one around to talk to. Granted we went on Sunday but all day, no one at these stations. Bottom line, my son had fun, loved the magic show, walked for hours and slept whole way home. Hope this helps, sorry so long. Had to vent,...
