The food selection around here sucks. Occasionally, you will hope to find something that you would like to eat. You are stuck with either greasy unhealthy food, vegan/vegetarian overload or just plain tasteless combinations. Currently, sitting here attempting to eat the Flank Steak with Brussels, Arugula salad and chimichurri sauce and it's not the best or desirable food combination. The girl who wrote that stellar review about this meal has skewed taste buds. It's a nasty combination. Who pairs steak with nothing but greens? Might as well just made a salad with steak meat. This new food manager is not creative at all. To come to work daily to be disappointed and starving is the worst. I understand we all can bring our own meals to work but if you occasionally want or need to eat here, I pray you aren't picky.
It's a hit or miss with this cafeteria - they basically repeat the menu every week and refuse to change up the sides to the meats they prepare. I will tell you that the pot roast with potatoes is pretty ok and in the winter they tend to have roasted butternut squash which is pretty ok as well. Everytime someone asks about pancakes or french toast, nobody knows when or what day it's available...
For this to be the #1 hospital in the country, the cafeteria doesn't live up to the standards

So, a quick update... They now have a nice little breakfast station that has sandwiches, waffles, pancakes, etc...great additionššæ My only gripe is with the cashiers & servers whom they hire. These are some of the most rude & attitudinal ladies I've encountered in quite a whileššæš¤..not all of them, but a good number who reflect badly on the group as a whole. Most of them act irritated to even be there and they speak to adults as if they're speaking to their kids! They're constantly on their cellphones and rarely greet a customer or offer a receipt. The main cafeteria was just shut down and flamers should have been shut down and removed. All of the food is high! One hotdog is 8$, and uncooked hamburger is 13$. They cook and prepare food without hair nets, clean the counters with dirty rags, and the hours of operation is suppose to be 7am (convenient for staff) yet they donāt open until 10am or later every morning. And refuse to make requested items when asked based on time. This restaurant does not care about the staff or visitors and as long as Hopkins allows it itāll never change. And thatās sad!! Staff need good customer care, nutrition and caring just like what we are to offer the patients. Why canāt we get good treatment...
