I live just down the road so super one is a convenient location. My roommates shop there so thought I would switch it up from the regular Walmart shopping trip. The store seemed well staffed and I had no wait in line despite being busy early afternoon hours. Most registers were open, and the speedy checkout aisle attendee was still nice enough to check me out even though I had more than ten items. She was not slow and rang everything up with precision and ease, despite one item not scanning properly and needing to be manually inputted. I also had a question mid shop about the location of two items and the employee stocking the shelves knew what aisle they were in immediately. 10/10 for customer service and speed of service. As far as value is concerned, the store is absolutely littered with bargain deals. You cannot escape a bargain here, and I was only disappointed that my budget was limited because I would have gladly taken advantage of several other bargains. The off sale items were comparable to other affordable small chain grocery outlets. Not as good as Walmart on standard prices, but if you are a bargain hunter and selectively shop here you will be saving a massive amount of money. 10/10 on value. Now, the final category, selection and quality of selection. I did not get around to browsing the entire grocery store but I was very surprised and happy to find myself eyeing down a wonderful selection of deli goods and foods, as well as a specialty olive bar and cheese section. The olive bar proved to be a massive success in providing kalamata olives and antipasto for my recipe. I also came here in hopes of finding quality pizza ingredients and found much more than I expected. They had authentic pepperoni logs and dry aged salamis, and I was also able to find the beloved fontina cheese I enjoy using in my recipes, as well as a broad selection of other cheeses, many of which were on sale, like the fresh Mozzarella I picked up 2 for 7 dollars. Overall this is the strongest suit for super one in my opinion. I am looking forward to exploring their selection further. 11/10 for selection and quality...
Read moreCongratulations on the acquisition of both Cub foods locations in Brainered/ Baxter and the Super Valu location in Pequot.
While this is an amazing opportunity for your owners, I believe it will have a very negative impact on the local economy and for shoppers who both need or prefer convenience.
In 2025 a large percentage of customers prefer groceries to be picked up or delivered. As of now your company doesn’t offer these services or partner with any of the many reputable companies that offer this service.
As a supporter of local business, I’m afraid that this will just continue to drive traffic to the big retailers in town like Walmart and target.
Offering pickup or delivery through your stores or a third party would offer your company more reach, satisfy more customers, offer a separate chain of income and most importantly keep the thousands of people in the area that rely and prefer supporting local for their grocery deliveries an option to do so. It would also help the 100s of independent contractors making a living with the help of cub, continue to do...
Read moreThe store has a huge selection of everything and is reasonably priced. The store was clean and organized. I was a bit annoyed with my cashier though. I was at the checkout and placed 20+ items on the conveyer belt, last item was a 24 pack of bottled water. Cashier scans the items, doesn't bag them or ask if I wanted them bagged. I pay for the items and she proceeds to turn on the conveyor belt. I'm now trying to put my stuff back into the cart and she keeps moving everything forward with the pack of water squishing everything in front of it. And yes she was aware she was doing this. I get it, were in hard times right now and everyone is short staffed. But I would suggest training your cashier's better. There were at least 4 cashier's in the store. Maybe open 2 checkout lanes and have a cashier and bagger at each one? I just thought it was a bit rude what she did and I'll probably shop at Cubs foods...
