We've kept our boat here since June 2016. It's a very new marina, built after Katrina.
Pros: Brand new facilities. Nice bathrooms/showers. Close (adjacent) to a quaint and vibrant downtown bar/restaurant/shopping area. Very artsy. No car needed (and you can rent a golf cart or bike 100 yards from the marina if you want to range farther). Great and knowledgeable staff at the marina who act like they are really happy to be there. Very reasonable transient rates. Day tie up is free. Easy marina to get in or out of by boat with no tight turns or spaces (you could tie up a 150 boat here without getting nervous and they have space for one 150 foot boat and two 110 footers, just call and make sure they are not taken). They can always find a transient berth for 65 feet and under. Good depth everywhere in the harbor and the approach.
Cons: the layout of the piers can make for a long walk to your boat from the parking lot or office/bathrooms. Fixed piers with a two foot tidal range at times can make boarding boats challenging at times. Pump out only available at fuel pier. Weird lighting to the entrance (there will actually be a flashing red light to your port as you come in, don't let...
Read moreWonderful marina/harbor! We looked at literally every marina that could house a larger boat (60’+) from Gulfport to Madisonville, LA and hands down this is the best one. Such helpful staff that are on site 24/7, security, amenities, and fuel and pump our services. The views of the Bay bridge on one side and the Gulf sea to the horizon are amazing. The beaches are beautiful and right here. The marina is also located within a short walk to Old Town BSL, with tons of good restaurants, live music and shopping. Couldn’t recommend it more strongly! Happy to have been a slip holder here for several years and counting. Just so it’s not all rainbows and sunshine, the Wi-Fi could...
